E-waste ‘drawers of doom’ growing, say campaigners | BBC News
Household hoards of unused electricals and broken tech are growing, a recycling campaign group has warned.
Material Focus has estimated that people have gone from stockpiling an average of 20 items to 30 within four years.
Its findings come from market research. The top ten products include remote controls, mobile phones and hairdryers.
The UN has reported that electronic waste is rising five times faster than documented recycling.

Nancy Pelosi blames Joe Biden for Democratsâ election loss | BBC News
Former US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said Democrats might have seen more success in the US election if President Joe Biden had quit the race sooner.
The party was beaten in the race to the White House by Republican Donald Trump, and finger pointing has began.
Pelosi – one of the most powerful politicians in Washington – told the New York Times that “had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race”.
She is widely reported to have led the Democratsâ push to oust Biden, who ended up leaving the race at the end of July after weeks of pressure, before he quickly endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris to take his place.
