The Courage To Speak The Truth Is A Virtue!
A puppet of the Trudeau government is now crying out to its master for help as it faces extinction from the Canadian news and journalism sphere. This puppet, as you might have guessed, is Global News, a part of the legacy media that has sworn to like Trudeau’s behind at any time possible.
The woes of Global News became known when the executive vice president of its parent company, Corus Entertainmment Inc. told the Senate transport and communications committee that its news business was “on the brink” despite the fact that the company, Corus, had received billions in taxpayers funding from Trudeau. Assuming all was normal and just, I see no reason why Corus would run to the government to get funding so soon, which is in fact people’s hard earned money, instead of looking within for the problem and solution to their financial crisis. But then, Trudeau is prime minister and nothing is normal and just.
Troy Reeb who is the executive vice president of Corus Entertainment Inc. said, and I quote, “News is a challenging business. Traditionally we have offset our news losses through more profitable entertainment programming but this is no longer a feasible strategy. Our ability to provide local, fact based news in large parts of the country, in small markets, in places like the English language minority community in Montréal, it all teeters on the brink.”
This man sure has nerves though. From his statement, he actually believes that Global News provides fact based news for Canadians. Well, he is either in la la land to think that or he is doing what every other part of legacy media is good at, lie. Look at the Freedom Convoy for instance. For those of us who might have forgotten the mainstream media’s role in that, the legacy media brought an outrageous bias into the situation in joint efforts to support Trudeau’s use of the Emergencies Act at that time.
