Agree 100% these targets are insane especially when we haven't got a viable alternative in place.

We will never get to Net Zero, the technology is there, doubt every person in the UK want net zero deep down. If we keep with it, we as a British nation will be completely bankrupt.

Here's an idea, how about the WEF funds this net zero goal in its entirety!! They clearly believe it's a marvellous idea and probably have the funds to pay for it too. So, put your money where your mouth is Klaus & co! Maybe you try "owning nothing and being happy" first, then let us plebs know how you get on 👍

Feasibility studies require facts and figures. Where are the figures for net zero targets?

The final two will devastatingly be. Risky Rat Sunak and Penny Moredaunting. These Lizard people are evil. They will choose Risky in September because Moredaunting is even more a daunting prospect than Risky.

The argument displayed here is illogical. Britain's carbon footprint is negligible compared to the global one which is increasing as China, India, and other BRIC countries reject the IPCC claims linking atmospheric CO2 from human sources to global climate change, a fact that is supported by the real climate science that links it to solar input. The presenter was correct when she said there were other sources of carbon dioxide and the major one is the ocean which contains 1000 times more than the atmosphere and releases it as it warms from the energy that went in hundreds of years ago and only now is surfacing having gone around the global conveyor current that ends in the Gulf Stream. As for the future not being able to have a better standard of living than past generations the standard of living depends on the cost and availability of energy and this can be supplied cheaply and safely by nuclear based on thorium which is in plentiful supply. The real risk is a low level of atmospheric carbon dioxide since it is needed by plants for food production and they do not grow well below 200 ppm and have an optimum level of 1200 ppm or four times the current level. This effect can be seen from the fact that as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels increased from 1960 to now the level of global biomass (food) has increased by 16%.

They can't fix immigration, covid or inflation but they're going to control the world climate.

We are sitting on Billions of natural resources under our feet yet fail to utilize them, this is 2 fingers up to the 'common' people of this country, they want us in debt and living hard lives so they can be our 'saviors'. Disgusting that nearly every household has to suffer for this pathetic policy.

Net zero is an absurd target. The UK produces around 1% of global carbon emissions. Nothing we do in the UK is going to have any effect on global warming.

Couldn't take this guy seriously as soon as he revealed that he can't pronounce the word "nuclear" despite not even being from USA.

Then, he sealed the deal by saying "we shouldn't get into a position where we're expecting people to put up with [having] less and to not have a better lifestyle than previous generations", when he looks like he isn't old enough to remember anything other than economic good times.

It doesn't only get better, kiddo. That's not reality. It might be through financial mismanagement rather than climate change, but when things are broken, they're broken, and some painful times can be required to heal and fix the sotuation.
