I turned down a gig in Cuba because they don't have 4g service. I can't be offline because of my other businesses. They need to get internet mobile savvy.

Make no mistake…. once the American money comes in it will entrench itself into every aspect of cuban society and the people will see how much they have been missing. The youth wont give a damn about their grandfather's revolution and the govt will slowly lose its power. Then it will either get better with free open elections or we will have decades of civil unrest. With American money and products comes the cia, nsa, fbi, etc…. make no mistake.

How is an American buying a guys classic car for lets say $100,000 and changing that cubans family for the better a problem? The sale of that old car could pay for that cubans kids college or a new home… Honestly that guy in the vid with the green hat and red start is a jerk.

like everything else take it slow and in moderation. with the help of the internet keep it in the open. let the people who did not run and stayed in there country decide. and for those who started this mess over fifty years ago hold them accountable. but be careful  because they are some ruthless s.o.b.´s.  but all good things come with the bad. there goes my toilet paper/ used telephone book exports from here in "cali". and i bet the "cohs" and the m. c. puros prices are going up for my gringo importers. thank ceilo the chinos are all ready flooding the market with there knock-off cigars, damn.  \//,

Is it Time to Tax the Robots? | BBC News

Published

Join the AI Decoded team as we examine Sam Altman’s vision for an era of artificial superintelligence. The Open AI CEO is calling for a new kind of social contract — an “AI New Deal” — arguing that unprecedented technological power will require rethinking how the benefits are shared, including ideas such as wealth redistribution and even taxes on robots.

Also in the programme, presenter Christian Fraser is joined by leading AI thinker Gary Marcus and Oxford University robotics expert Professor Sara Bernardini to explore what a future shaped by autonomous machines could mean for work, safety and society.

Plus, tech reporter Lara Lewington meets 19‑year‑old student Maeve O’Neil, whose smart ring detected a life‑threatening health issue before it was too late.

AI Decoded — helping you make sense of the AI shaping your world.

Has Trump’s feud with Pope Leo crossed a line with Catholics? | Global News Podcast

Published

on

There is continuing criticism from Catholics around the world, as US President Donald Trump’s feud with Pope Leo escalates. Trump said Pope Leo XIV was “weak”, and posted an AI-generated image of himself on Truth Social, which many people believe depicted him as Jesus.

The image, which has now been deleted, showed Trump appearing to heal a sick man in a hospital bed. He said it showed him as a doctor. The image post came hours after the president posted a lengthy message criticising the pontiff, who is a vocal critic of the US and Israeli military operation in Iran.

Italy’s prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, has said Donald Trump’s remarks are ”unacceptable”. Meloni, who is Catholic and heads a right-wing coalition government, is a close ally of Trump.

Pope Leo said that he has “no fear” of the Trump administration. There are more than 70 million Catholics in the US – many of whom are swing voters. We ask the BBC’s religion editor, Aleem Maqbool, if Donald Trump’s row with the pope has dealt lasting damage to his Catholic support.

BBC investigation finds lawyers coaching fake LGBTQ+ asylum claims | BBC News

Published

on

A shadow industry of law firms and advisers is charging thousands of pounds to help migrants pretend to be gay in order to stay in the UK, the BBC has found.

In the first part of a major undercover investigation, we reveal how migrants whose visas are due to run out are being given fake cover stories and instructed in how to obtain fabricated evidence, including supporting letters, photographs and medical reports.

They then apply for asylum claiming to be gay and in fear for their lives if they return to Pakistan or Bangladesh.

In response to our findings, the Home Office said: “Anyone found trying to exploit the system will face the full force of the law, including removal from the UK.”
