I made pancake mix similar to yours, but had to sacrifice a water bottle for the rest of the week as we had no cup to measure oil. Now we tend to use commercial pancake mix. Since we have quite the camp kitchen in field camp I've made apple fritters multiple times.

cooking elderberries removes the toxins that give you the squirts as you so eloquently put it. They’re delicious and you had a campfire right there to cook them! Could have made a nice little elderberry and blackberry sauce for the pancakes.

Elderberries make a really nice jam with a little lime juice for acid.
Are American elderberries different from English ones?

Perfect camping recipe… for when you are camping within 100ft of your car and can make 10 trips to unpack. Try dragging all that on a trail for 5 miles.

There is something amazingly British about a man walking away in the rain with an umbrella, wearing a orange and grey sweater.

  35. @cnehrenfried

    January 25, 2024 at 9:24 am

This was amazing. Camping is all about preparation and wet camp gear that hopefully you have properly set up before it rains… And then trying to eat after someone obnoxiously wakes you up as you regret your sleeping arrangements. Just being tired makes everything funny after a while. Good go, boys.

Please could you do a ski holiday equivalent please? Both food you could take on the mountain and food that's tasty and easy to prepare back at the chalet?

If I could afford a car like that I would not buy a shoe off one I mean if someone steals it I would want to buy another one or too much cost

"camping' … all the shots show trees and stinging nettles (well done mike!) only to find — spoiler alert — right next to a house and garage !! for shame boys … ps – do a battle where you cook in the kitchen using nothing but tinfoil and a toaster oven!

We Gave Our Kids TOTAL Control of the Food Shopping

Published

on

A 7-year-old just did our grocery shop… and Jamie & Mike have to turn it into a delicious meal.
Baz’s son Austin had TOTAL control in the supermarket – picking ingredients that absolutely shouldn’t go together (sweet, savoury, snacks, “why is that in the trolley?”). Then we revealed them to Jamie and Mike back in the Sorted kitchen with three rules:

✅Use EVERY ingredient Austin buys
✅Make a dish we’d actually want to eat
✅Survive the midway curveball bag that could ruin everything!

You’ll see Austin choosing items in-store, then we cut back to the kitchen as the lads scramble to form a plan, adapt on the fly, and somehow plate up something worthy of praise from not just Chef Ben but Austin himself.

Which ingredient would have broken your brain the most – and did the curveball bag make it better or worse?

Takeaway vs Premium Ready Meal (Blind Taste Test)

Published

on

Today we’re putting premium supermarket ready meals vs takeaway head-to-head in a blind taste test.

Can you actually tell a premium ready meal from a takeaway when you can’t see it? We’re taste testing two very similar dishes side-by-side (supermarket “posh” ready meal vs local takeaway), judging on flavour, texture, value for money, portion size, and overall satisfaction – and trying to guess which is which.

If you enjoy blind tasting, food comparisons, budget vs premium, and “worth it?” style tests, this one’s for you.

COMMENT BELOW: Would you rather spend your money on a premium ready meal or a takeaway – and which dish do you think wins?
