Why Iranians have been queueing for chicken – BBC News
Iran’s government has been defiant about the US sanctions reinstated by then-President Donald Trump in 2018 when he abandoned a nuclear deal – but also very focused on getting them lifted.
Talks with the Biden administration on the issue have been taking place for weeks, with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sounding more upbeat than US officials about reaching an agreement.
Though Iran’s leaders seem reluctant to admit it, the sanctions have exacerbated already serious economic problems – as recent long queues for chicken have shown.

Christa Pike: 911 calls reveal chaos after failed execution and other stories | Global News Podcast
Authorities in the US state of Tennessee have released dramatic phone calls that were made to the emergency services after the botched execution of Christa Pike. They show there was chaos and confusion as emergency responders tried to work out whether a request for help in the execution chamber was genuine and not a prank call, allegedly leading to a delay in the inmate being taken to hospital. Christa Pike, who killed Colleen Slemmer in 1995, was given two lethal injections that failed to kill her. Her case is now in uncharted territory as she is thought to be the only person to have survived an execution attempt by lethal injection.

For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes.
BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.

If you continue to reject being a good member of the international community, then go crying to China for help. The rest of the free world simply don't want to do any business with a terrorist organization masquerading as "Iranian government". You have the "power of choice", to end all suffering of Iranian people. We all pray for the good citizens of Iran to one day rise up against the terrorists in charge of their country, and to embrace freedom and economic prosperity once again. But until then, only tyranny like China and North Korea who have no respect for international law, are happy to trade with Iran. The choice is yours, we are happy to wait as long as it takes.
