Published

on

Street food is popular the world over, but the Brazilians sure know how to party. These amazing snacks of creamy chicken filling coated in a chicken dough then breadcrumbs and deep-fried are just about perfect… only made better with a fresh tomato salsa.

Did Ben just say he used to take evening classes for samba? And did the entire community just ignore that? The community that got 10k likes on a video to see him play the guitar 'spanish-ly' just skimmed past this? Is there anything that Ben can't do? He cooks, plays the guitar, gardens, hikes, does magic tricks, juggles, and apparently at some point was learning dance!!! That is incredible!

The British version of a coxinha. Brazilians don't really eat salsa. That salsa comes from Mexico.

    Great recipe!!
Not completely tradicional, but really tasty nonetheless.
    Totally approved!!

  25. @thaiseathaydesantos

    January 24, 2024 at 2:50 pm

Not traditional but looks good, we just would never eat it with sauce.
I think I might buy one today, the video made me do it.

  26. @JuanVeigaCamp

    January 24, 2024 at 2:50 pm

Not a traditional recipe, but looks good. As a brazilian I would give it a try. Coxinha can be made with a bunch of different seasonings and sizes.

But speaking about the traditional way, usually we don't mix the creamy cheese with the chicken, we put both but separate. I believe the "cream cheese" is the nearest tasting cheese to the original one used in Brazil that is called "catupiry" but still not the same.

I missed that the chicken wasn't cooked with seasons as well. Usually we cook, pull the chicken and then cook a bit more with seasoning like fresh chopped parsley (not coriander, this ruins everything) garlic and salt. Most of traditional recipes add a bit of tomato paste to give a reddish color to the chicken. For us the paleness of the chicken is not so appealing. But that's not mandatory.

Not sure who told you guys about the salsa but we don't eat that with salsa. (it's not even a brazilian dance as well) 😂

  27. @EunjiChoi

    January 24, 2024 at 2:50 pm

You guys really like coriander; it seems to show up in all your recipes! But I'm pretty sure I've never tasted coriander in coxinha (I'd know, I have the soap gene).

The end result looks gorgeous though.

  28. @GutoSantosy

    January 24, 2024 at 2:50 pm

    Tudo errado. '-'

    January 24, 2024 at 2:50 pm

Meu deus que coxinha feia é essa, o frango branco, nem temperou o frango, n refogou pra da gosto e corzinha com coloral, e a massa… kkkkkkkk eu n comeria coxinha dessa nuca.

There are those who talk that they got big, but in the state of São Paulo that's how they are consumed in bars and bakeries, the small ones are served at parties. There are variations depending on the region.

We don't do coxinhas like that 🙁
