Have May’s Red Lines Made Getting a Deal Impossible? – Brexit Explained

Published

on

May has been talking about red lines for months, her hard limits when it comes to Brexit negotiations. However, there’s a case to be made that these red lines are exactly what’s sabotaged the Brexit process. We discuss why the red lines have limited the chances of getting a deal and how the EU sees the process.

The UK fails to realize one important thing, the EU needs the UK a lot less than the other way round, so when negotiating the EU can just leave the table, so good luck UK XD

from the moment the withdrawal negotiation started, the EU declared war on the British
Referendum Result, and it deliberately made the withdrawal agreement almost Impossible
to accept, it was intended, as president Macron has said, to make Britain Suffer, Mr Macron
was being extremely hypocritical in Saying that the EU ''Cannot'' be hostage to the political
Crisis in the UK, When it is his and the Commission determination to humiliate Britain,
    Especially with the ''Backstop''

the Remain infested parliament and the EU has Set a trap for Mrs May and the UK's Negotiators
and She has willing walk straight into it, the deal between the prime minister and the EU is
Abominable, She brought back a deal that Could potentially lead to the division of the UK,
and she has failed to deliver her promises to the British people, by Signing a Bad deal which
is much worse than ''No Deal'',

EU Leaders have ordered Theresa to accept a brexit delay of six months, in the hope of
overturning the decision to Leave, this show that the EU has No interest in democracy,
Referendum is like Kryptonite to the EU, that's why it is not encourage in any member
State, the European Union was purposely designed to Avoid Accountability, and to
Remove the people's voice from the Governing process, in their Ridiculous puppet parliament
Nobody Can initiate Legislation, it Similar to China, it makes a mockery of democracy

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

Not on there own but in combination with Good Friday / Belfast Agreement compliance … Yep.
Add reliance on DUP to stay in government it's almost certain Tories have never had any intention of delivering BrExit.
Tories are merely weaseling their way out of their mess by blaming everybody else for what was ALWAYS UNDELIVERABLE.

England: "I deserve autonomy! I deserve my freedom! The EU is a tyrant who doesn't understand my ways!"
Also England: "Wales, Scotland, Ireland, I know you're upset with us for all the hate speech, murder, and overall horrible treatment we gave you over the last few centuries. I get that, but it shouldn't matter what those old guys did (and our most recent ex prime minister). Why you ask? Because we are stronger together. With England at the helm. Who is with me!?"
    EU: "uuuuhhhhhhh… Yeah"

I really don't appreciate having to pump the volume up to 11 to hear the video, especially when the mid-video ad starts screaming in my ears. Just saying.

  13. @OzWannabe

What an imbecile. Adding US Georgia shape and superimposing Caucasian Georgia flag. And you want to be a global nation.

The CETA deal is better than PM mays !

  15. @jamesdaugherty2339

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

So, just letting you know (it's really not that big a deal but) at 6:45 the icon representing Georgia has the correct national flag design, but the shape of the icon is actually the shape of Georgia, a state in the southeast United states. Again, not a big deal, but if anybody's wondering why Georgia looks like Georgia instead of Georgia, that's why.

I love your videos! Keep it up! I only saw that flaw because I'm a huge geography and politics nerd… kind of the reason why I like this channel so much!

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

Basic questions for now: why did it take so long, right up to and over the deadline? Was there not enough time? Could the process have been speeded up? Is it incompetence one or both sides?

The majority of Leave voters and Tory voters want no deal regardless of the consequences. However the main two parties (the front benches especially have no free will and are told what to say and do, just look at ex brexiteer Corbyn) He and other REAL left wingers like Melachon of France are anti EU because they put corporations first. UKIP and Farage also say the same things but get smeared by the corporate media as right wingers despite being left wing on many issues. (Hence why many working class Labour voters are fine voting for them and not the champagne socialist London neo liberals)

  27. @shashipancholi

UK demanded a divorce but forgot about the pre-nup. EU would rather see us starving and homeless than help us build a house right next door. They've offered to let us live in the shed but that's demeaning. We helped them build their house, should we really abandon it without a place to go?

  28. @sakal88

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

What the British dont realize is that if they leave the EU without a deal they maybe never get one. Spain can block it and demand Gibraltar in exchange.

  29. @shhh2583

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

Most, if not every clause has multiple options and will allow amendments before ratification. It is not a be all end all deal. Something the politicians and media never mention.

The Canada model is also not realistic given that they are quite far away and we are technically within swimming distance of mainland EU and share a border with Ireland. Literally every trade and immigration logistic is completely different, so how could we even negotiate a similar deal?

  34. @philsweeney81

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

  35. @cush6827

The British hold the attitude "We walk away, and we want to determine the conditions of the departure".

    The British are arrogant idiots.
    As if it were 1919.

  36. @wandersonfrancisco8494

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

To summarize, UK has two paths to go: No deal or no Brexit.

  37. @dak1st

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

It's actually pretty simple what the UK wants: They want full access to the market without customs (but only on exports, they still want to be able to put customs on anything entering their country). They want freedom of movement for their citizens but not for anyone else. They want to keep getting EU subventions but not pay a penny to the EU. They want complete regulatory autonomy while still having the same standards as the EU, which is easy to implement. The EU would just have to recognise all UK laws to be superior to EU law and just implement all of the UK laws. It's not that hard…

  38. @sahhull

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

A remainer negotiating a leaving treaty. What could go wrong?

  39. @Terwano

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

    Become a 3rd party nation

Make a comprehensive trade agreement that protects German manufacturing and British services as well as maintaining the fishing quota around the UK.

Make a comprehensive security agreements, kind of like how there already is nato and 5 eyes without the countries that make up those needing to be in the eu…

Where there is a will, there is a way. Problem is, there is no will.

Funny how people keep talking about how likely no Deal is when it's really the least likely option, only less likely than actually Leaving the EU. It's been evident for a while now that no matter what deal comes out we're going to be in the eu one way or another. No Deal was inevitable on 29th March, yea? Or wait was that 12th April? No wait, think it was may… No June… 2020? Interesting how this inevitable date is pushed back. Brexiters will get worn out and the country will remain in the EU. Only way this changes is with a change in parliament and government that actually has a will to leave. Not a will to remain but respect the vote. Not a will to be half in half out. But a will to leave. The UK is not leaving the EU, no idea why remainers even stress about it.

  40. @CarlosSempereChen

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

Isn’t the backstop likely to effectively keep the U.K. in the (or “a”) customs union until techno-magic makes borders obsolete/forever? How is the negotiated withdrawal agreement acceptable to May? No wonder she’s counting on Labour votes.

  41. @bernhardlangers778

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

Let's just hope Friday finally puts an end to this. The way the UK parliament went about things is more than laughable. With everything at stake they played a game of party politics. Let's just say the hedgefond guys are already getting their money in place for it. …

  42. @deanseawa

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

I've warned you before that you're rushing too quickly to put your videos up without doing proper research and a final review. I'm going to have to give you thumbs down for using the wrong map of Georgia.

  45. @matthewhemmings2464

    January 24, 2024 at 10:41 am

So basically the UK will end up like Yugoslavia? With its political regions going to shit… Going to get more interesting.

    England: Clearly Serbia
    Wales: Montenegro
    Gibraltar: Slovenia
    Scotland: Croatia
    Northern Ireland: Bosnia Herzegovina

And someone can fight to be The ex UK republic of Macedonia
