King Charles to be treated for benign prostate condition | BBC News

Published

on

King Charles III is set to attend hospital next week for treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Buckingham Palace said the King’s condition is benign but he will undergo a “corrective procedure”.

The 75 year old’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation, the Palace said.

The announcement comes shortly after it was revealed the Princess of Wales is in hospital after undergoing abdominal surgery.

I'm not a subject of His Majesty, but I appreciate the transparency of both the King's and the Princess of Wales' health. When Queen Elizabeth II was alive, Buckingham Palace was notoriously secretive about her health (especially regarding the circumstances of her 2021 hospitalization). Cheers to both His Majesty and Her Royal Highness as they begin their roads to recovery!

Many men – including myself – receive a similar diagnosis in later life but it is not necessarily a condition
requiring in-patient treatment. I wonder what the "corrective" procedure amounts to? I believe there
is a process by which the gland is medically "shaved" to reduce it in size; otherwise there might be a need
for its removal – a course that has its own possible after-effects. But which a urinary flow problem might
require either to avoid harmful fluid retention and kidney damage etc. Obviously, most of get by one way or
another with the condition, but for a man occupying The King's unique obligations and busy life-style,
it would much more fo a hindrance in daily life than for the rest of us less stressed and obligated mortals
able to dictate how we can arrange and spend our time around any such condition..

Charles could not let Princess Kate be the concern of people for even a few hours. He has to be the center of attention, even for a common procedure. No one cares about his penis or how he pees. Remember he told everyone to go bugger themselves with coffee to cure cancer? Go take a coffee enema Chuckie and grow up.

  28. @michigan1291

    January 21, 2024 at 8:37 am

As always Charles issued a statement about HIMSELF. He "advises" men to go to a doctor…..where???? at his private hospital. Let him try to get service at the NSH under an ordinary name. He is having an ordinary procedure, no big deal. He never mentioned anyone else. He just had to hone in on concern for HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Spare a thought for the lesser mortals suffering the same condition. The priveledged and wealthy for no good reason i am sure can afford the best treatment. The societal brain washing here is astounding. Remember god save the queen was sung for decades. Turns out he did not save her at all. That might mean they are just humans. Mmmmm food for thought. Funny god plays such a huge role in curing people medical science has to step in. People so banal and vacuous its painful.

My money is on a burst abdominal aortic aneurysm for Kate. Very common lately due to being a known side effect of the Co*id jab. It is a very very serious condition and definitely would account for taking so much time off her duties, as it requires a long recovery. I pray she has a full and complete speedy recovery and is back home well and rested with her family.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.

The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.

Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
