The hospitality industry should have resisted the lockdowns from day one but they didn't. They were cowards and thought they could comply their way through this. They did it to themselves the spineless morons.

Fear and chaos. Exactly what the tyrants want. Watch out for more. Omicron not threatening to health,so why are we over reacting.? No support more chaos and public reaction.

Ffs PEOPLE… Covid is not going away, we are just delaying the inevitable. Let the omicron do its thing and weaken with each new variant, until it fades out…like Spanish flu. The quicker it weakens, the quicker we can go back to normal. The vaccine is not the holy grail and clearly not the cure

Furlough and grants were only a back door bailouts for the banks who have the liability of business and property loans for landlords/tenants. Now the central banks have achieved rapid price inflation, they don’t need to find ways to pump the economy and if they have to call those loans in and reap the assets from property, then that’s what will happen.

Let’s ignore the already out of control debt this country has, and increase that debt by printing even more money. At the same time as increasing the hysteria over a mild case of the flu.

Government do not care ….they certainly appear to not want us to socialise with each other they killed the wmc , and the pubs

Its not only the restaurants, pubs, theatres, hotels and clubs… its the breweries, food suppliers, hair dressers, beauticians, market stall traders and tons of small businesses connected to the hospitality industry who make most of their yearly income at this time of year. It seems to me that while huge pharma companies are making billions mostly over seas with large tax incentives yet again its the home grown small independent businesses who will suffer the most. Who knows, with the staffing difficulties just adding to their woes how can we blame them if they decide to give up? What will be left after all this? I am so glad that the people of North Shropshire voted the Lib Dems in after 200 years of Tories. The two 'leading' political parties have nothing whatsoever to offer as far as I can see. Talk about NOT being able to read a room!

  21. @robertdownie879

    January 18, 2024 at 3:58 pm

All of them running the four nations need to go now they have decimated the hospitality trade without a care for them left them high and dry with nothing but food to rot I hope they choke on there xmas dinners remember the next election who has cost you your job everyone of them .

    January 18, 2024 at 3:58 pm

we wont go if they are pushing covid passports we just wont do that they dont care they need to stop illegals stop all the restrictions on our personal lives stop rabbiting about covid and nothing else we are done enough of their bullshit boris needs to go and take that idiot Whitty and Gove with him

  26. @RE-ng5uw

    January 18, 2024 at 3:58 pm

Typical… Everyone was against whitty and his fear mongering restrictions before saying he had no power to dictate but now he's opposed Boris's easy going guidance to Carry on but be careful they're all following whittys advice because they think they might get more furlough out if it.
    True colours are showing now
