How To Make Banoffee Trifle Recipe – Homemade by SORTED
Banoffee pie is a relatively recent addition to the list of British desserts, whilst trifle has been around for ages. For this one we merge the two… as if the Portmanteau of Banoffee (banana and toffee) wasn’t enough… we squeeze in the elements of a trifle too.

Virtually no "old" European food is older than your grandparents and even less is centuries old. If you just go back to the early 1900s almost everything they ate is nearly unrecognizable to us today. A bit like banoffee, we think is is old but in reality, barely middle aged. If you want centuries old tradition, try lung stew…… and yes, that was a real olden time dish.

I know I'm late here but that's the saddest banana bread I've ever seen. Wheres the sorghum (not molasses), and orange juice. You gotta use 5 or 6 dark dark bananas.

OMG that looks AMAZING! I may need to try that one for my next girls night in! Thanks guys! As for your question at the end: my grandma’s favorite dessert was German chocolate cake. My mom and I baked one every year for her birthday. 💕

Plain jelly plain clear jelly how rude you could of at least used strawberry or orange flavored jelly plain is just blasphemous. If you were in my family and you did that you'd of been disowned. That said my nan as mentioned that her adoptive mother used to make trifle with honey instead of jelly but it wasn't a think layer even so that sounds like diabetes in a bowl.

Jamie translates things into American, and they sound even more foreign… In his defense, the US is a big place. Maybe "tipsy cake" is from a different region than me….

My nan loves rice pudding, with the egg yolk folded into the pudding before it´s done, so it won´t scramble. Then she whips up the egg whites and folds them under the cooled down pudding. We used to eat it with homemade quince sauce and cinnamon sugar.
