Look at Holland the world's second biggest food producer, let us make food each year in advance, introduce a food packaging common standard system to reduce food waste, use waste food for fuel, have seed banks stocked on a daily basis, have a state run agricultural bank.

EU is nothing but Communism 2.0 – everything is being driven by quotas just like in the old Soviet system.

    Some reasons to vote out:

We can''t vote for who makes the rules we must follow (undemocratic)
Most people don't even know who these Eurocrats are (unseen)
Even if you did know who they were, you have no way of removing them (unaccountable)

We pay £11 billion net to them every year to tell us what we can or can't do.

They prop up failing industry by slapping tariffs on cheaper goods coming from other parts of the world, with quotas and with regulation that favours European industry. (the effect being that consumers need to pay more money, for substandard goods and foods)

Europe is the only market in the world that is shrinking (from 36% of the world market when we joined, to 16% that it is now), everywhere else is growing faster.

If you look at the countries doing the best for themselves in Europe they're the ones that didn't join the Eu.

They are now trying to sign TTIP agreement which we'd be stuck in under the EU (as it would take all member states to vote it out after it's in), it would give huge corporations the ability to sue our government if we change a rule that affects their profits…

We won't get another chance at this, if we vote in, then they won't stay where they are now, they'll carry on taking more and more of our rights through their regulations, and we'll be heading for the post democratic age… It's what they dream of, not letting the silly little people like me and you being able to get in the way of their European dream.

Future generations will blame us for this, if we vote to remain imo.

Why not mention the butter mountain BBC? When the EU bought up loads of it and left it to rot to create an artificial shortfall to drive up prices. Why not mention the tariffs the EU stick on imports coming from Africa and quotas so you can only take so much from outside? Food would be so much cheaper if not for the EU -_-

most of the people want to leave the EU not because of money etc, its because they don't want immigrants coming into the country, but they dont want people to think they are racists. Its easier to say "LEAVE THE EU" than to say. "no more immigrants!" hope you lot on your stinking island, rot away and burn. (im british). i also hope if you do leave Europe. they revoke your visas so you cant travel on your shitty cheap holidays to Spain, Greece etc.

also if you leave the EU. i hope Scotland, Wales and Ireland leave the uk. now that would be ironic

I guess social democracy is in the end just a vast redistribution, retirement and subsidization scheme with a large bureaucratic overhead. As long as enough people are productive enough to support the vast machine all is well. When the incentives to be productive are finally thoroughly eroded the end result is profound sclerosis. No amount of quantitative easing will solve that problem.

The EU is a Globalist fiefdom created by the same runaway Corporatism that wrecked the United states from the late 80's into the early 90's. The UK forgets they can simply look west to replace some or all of these things.

The EU is using the UK like a Pinata. All they want to do is bankrupt you into total dependency. Corporations do it all the time. Cut them out before it's too late.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
