The one thing I’ve noticed from these PIOs is that Jamie and Mike chronically overestimate the value of their contributions and the other three are modest/reasonable.

Who cares how you make paella? I mix meat and fish all the time

Technically Ben got the non stick pan, but it seems he didn't intended for it

Just realized these guys aren't supposed to know what the dish is ahead of time but the paellera is sitting on the hob from the start.

Pass it on idea. You're cooking a specific dish but only the last person knows what it is.

I'm suprised noone seems to have noticed that it was entirely Ben's fault for using a non-stick pan haha

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Haha this was fun and also very difficult to watch as I live in Spain 🙈My Spanish husband was crying 😂"where is the sofrito?!" peas nooo, chorizo noooo"

  13. @billduggan1334

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

My cooking experience would indicate you definitely can get crispy bottoms in a non-stick pan. 😂

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

    How to Paella CORRECTLY:

    Senia rice
Vole or Eel or Duck (depends on season/availability)
    Rosemary fed Xonetes
Ferraura, Garrofo or Artichokes (depends on season/availability)
    Saffron
    Salt
    Olive Oil
    Water

Note: anything else added would be HERESY
(Rabbit and Chicken are for filthy tourists only)
Use garlic, onion, peppers, tomatoes, green peas or God forbid chorizo; go straight to jail
If the rice is wet, you f*cked up
If the rice burst, you f*cked up
If there is no socarrat, you dishonor your ancestors

Must only be cooked on open fire with Orange wood as fuel and as an aromatic or else it's heresy

    It's pronounced pah•EHL•yah and not pa•ye•lah

  15. @warribe

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Next time: call it “arroz con cosas” and Spain will leave you guys alone.

  16. @robopecha

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

i have not heard it being pronounced payella before.

James instantly pointing out an error the guys have made is brilliant. It’s fantastic they all knew a paella shouldn’t be stirred but seeing James instantly recognise that a non-stick pan meant it should’ve been stirred for even cooking of the rice is classic Currie 😂

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

10:08 I am so confused about your repeated statements regarding mixing seafood and land creatures. The first paella I saw cooked was in a documentary about this man who cooks huge pans of paella on the beach, and sells it to beach goers. He mixes land and sea. Some time later, I learned that there are regional differences with paella recipes, some are all land, some all sea, but some combine the two.

  19. @maromania7

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Barry messing up in basically every way possible, then giving himself a 7/10 now flaw is just….wow. don't know what you don't know I guess XD

  20. @scyphe

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Seafood paella.. Barry puts chorizo in the pan and Jamie makes chicken. Oh yes, it's classic Recipe Relay.

  21. @gladtobeangry

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Well at least if the spanish want to critique the dish, the Sorted guys can always say," no no no, we weren't cooking paella, we were making a british dish called pie-ella. You know how us brits love our pies. This one was invented by a lady called Ella. "

  22. @SnowyRVulpix

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Probably would have been better in burrito.

barry throwing in rice like it bean (i dont even know if it even soak or not

  24. @DesignGurl

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Ben: strictly want to do a proper paella, no meat, don't want to offend spanish people….
James: Paella! Snail cool….lets put chicken in….

I swear Jamie comes in the middle every single order that the community suggests, he seems like he’s the middle for height, which probably puts him middle shoe size assuming averages as well, although I don’t think we can forget about the nose size meltdown, he definitely does have the biggest nose 😂

  30. @maishananjeeba7436

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

It's so funny that chefs rated the paella as pass but two normals did not🤣

  31. @krystalrose8114

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

This should be a t.v. show with a different chefs joining them every week and see what happens

    Pie-El-Ah, my favorite dish

  33. @jf76

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Oh god, please stop pronouncing it wrong.

  34. @jf76

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

Pronounce it right. Even Gordon Ramsay pronounces it incorrectly. This is a Spanish dish. Do not pronounce the double ll – it is more 'payaeya'. At least Ben pronounces chorizo well pronouncing the 'z' more like a 'th' but he sets it aside immediately, strangely – in many regions it is used. I am surprised a chef wouldn't know this. Only people in England seem to insist on pronouncing paella this way – I know it is spelled this way, but think of the context and history of the dish and how people from the country pronounce it, I mean, everyone. Oh god I can't look. Even from Canada I pride myself on making a decent paella. Arg. Yes he just dumped in the rice (the star of the dish) roughly chucking in…. ok I can't.

first time james got something wrong since i watch this channel^^ i got a non-stick paella pan and it DOES form a crust^^ so james fucked this one up^^

  39. @vlogerhood

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

What is most frustrating is the number of times they do say paella correctly proving they do actually know how to pronounce it.

  40. @petertaylor4980

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

The Spanish subtitles for this video translate "fishy" in the sense of "suspicious" rather than "piscine". Appropriate?

  41. @huggledemon32

    January 12, 2024 at 3:07 pm

I do enjoy how basically any sliced deli meat available automatically becomes “snacking meat”😂
