Most Asians use a rice cooker.
You can do it in a pan too.
The ratio is 1:2, one part rice, two parts water.
Or you can measure it by washing the rice, and topping up the water over the rice by 3/4 inch.
Bring it to boil, then turn the heat down to low, cover it and just don't touch it at all for 20mins. Do not lift the lid at all, it will let the steam out. After 20mins, take it off the heat lod still on and let it sit aside for 5 to 10mins to really soften up from all the lovely steam.
You should have fluffy Asian quality rice.
