Loved this especially the snails 😊 I live in Portugal our best friend the wonderful Amerigo …larger than life .goes around picking up snails in a large plastic bag then put it in a cut down plastic oil barrel and puts a lid on them until needed they foam and look disgusting but he loves them and tbh 5hey do taste better than they look …he also picks little corraca from his house walls and spiral small snails he went into his garage feed wine storage enclosure 😳 to gift me a large tub of these .n then ran back to find a nail too so I could pick at them whilst watching TV 😳🥴 these too tasted ok a bit like black peas …so yes here they just pick em and eat them no buying in tins or cultivated ..😂😂😂😂😂

Escargot and most other "delicacies" are always pretentious when served at an overpriced pretentious restaurant. It is a street food.

  12. @aarondubois6162

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

the salt is %100 pretentious. i will die on that hill

  13. @daniwalmsley611

Imgredients are not pretentious, talking about the origins of the imgredients when nobody asked is

  14. @daviddeforest6098

Mccormick is selling 2 vanilla beans for 25 USD at my grocery store

would like to see a branded ( average ) vs non branded ( the lowest price in town )

  18. @TheVoitel

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

The vanilla is not pretentious because you are paying for the care, time and work required to produce it. The salt is pretentious because you are paying to eat a rare mineral for the sake of rarity. As long as the sorts and methods get preserved this kind of vanilla could be cultivated in 100 years of time. Meanwhile the salt is a geological rarity that would be simply used up one day. It is a very weird thing to see a really rare, limited and beautiful mineral and just say: Let’s eat that!

  19. @joshuagregory3723

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Snails should not be celebrated in the UK but left to the cheese eating surrender monkeys.

Mike's knitwear game is always on point. Man has great taste.

For some reason, all my likes are gone. So more likes then

  22. @gerrypower9433

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Pommery's standard mustard offerings (as opposed to this premium version) come sealed with a naf plastic stopper designed to look like wax (but they're not fooling anyone.) I think that makes this version pretentious.

  23. @alexandrasmith7682

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Oooo, me would really like one of those travel grater!

  24. @addykruse6182

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Spin off idea: pick the pretentious. Pick the premium with lefter pretentious ingredients. Like the Himalayan salt vs sea salt

  25. @LILEE376

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Sea salt is also pretentious. The salt in a land locked salt mine is also sea salt and we can say that salt is much much older, ancient created a time when the oceans and seas was very different. I never buy sea salt. The colored salt is just some extra basic element in the mineral, like iron. Sadly just a microscopic portion of the price of a colored salt goes to the “farmer” who make it in Asia.

  26. @bjdefilippo447

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

If you get a chance, try Haitian vanilla. It's my favorite for baked goods, and rather than fruity, it's quite floral.

  27. @jaradsmethers3601

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

barry once again the king of pretentious

  28. @katherinemandzak2927

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

    Mmmm, snorridge 8:27

  29. @thomaspaffett8303

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

We have the edible variety of snails in our garden…in Kent. There are rumours they were bought over by the Romans.

  30. @DonOblivious

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

"Persian Blue Salt" is pretentious AF. If you want to taste it for yourself, go grab a can of Morton Lite Salt. That Blue Salt is just normal table salt with potassium salt with it. As somebody that uses a blend to help with my potassium levels, it's not nearly as tasty as regular ol' salt.

  31. @AshleyS60

    January 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm

Get someone who looks at you the way James looks at Mike during the intro
