Brexit might throw us into the next recession. I think the brexiteers are so happy with themselves having this much impact on the course of history but I see them as deranged bandits who indeed need a special place in hell. “Some men don’t want anything logical, some men just want to watch the world burn”

May's deal as you call it isn't the deal on the future relationship it is just agreeing to the Withdrawal Agreement so we can start negotiating the future trade relationship. This was made clear earlier on in the video, but it wasn't clear at the end after having spoken about how the EU would have to ratify the final trade deal we might agree to sometime in the next 10 years. Why we couldn't have got to the stage we are at now 2 years ago and have been discussing the future trading relationship by now is just anyone's guess, well it isn't, it's just incompetence on the part of the UK government and her party. Many will try to blame others, but in the end what she agreed to could have been agreed to 2 years ago, I guess Theresa May just likes being PM and all the trappings that go with it and didn't want to put that in jeopardy so soon after taking over, which says it all really.

This clearly shows what a monster the EU really is , but dont forget TLDR that the EU is also a member of the world Trade Organisation ,WTO, and they could be brought before a WTO tribunal if something is contrary to their rules , and dont forget 98%of world trade is done through the WTO .The EU has gained political and economic powers over the internal affairs of its members , which is a very dangerous situation and normally contrary to International Law . Trade under WTO does not involve surrendering any political power of the House of Commons to anyone , nor does it ask for 39 billion pounds , but the EU does this to all its members . If you are right about all members need to give approval for a mixed agreement ( this would normally be in exceptional circumstances) as the Wallonia case shows ( they objected to dispute resolution only) and normally the so called Singapore ruling applies ( where the EU does what it likes on certain topics) but say only Germany and France refused a trade deal they will suffer in the long run because they export more to the UK than vice versa , German cars and French wine can be sourced elsewhere .They could, for example , cease buying UK goods , and it might take time for the UK to adjust , but then dealing with the EU has become a race to the bottom for all members . Its abnormal complexity means you need an army of Lawyers just to buy or sell a couple of biscuits . Better for UK to leave now . Get out while you can .I would vote for UKIP even if Mr Bean was its leader ,and John Cleese chancellor of the exchequer , except that I cant because I , am South African . We trade under WTO rules since gaining independence along with 98% of the world .

Does anyone have a link to the list of EU's national assemblies? I can't find it

  10. @JeroenJA

    January 10, 2024 at 1:31 am

belgium, 7?? national assemblies? I think it should be 7, but a can understand the mistake. :

    1)Federal Government,
    2A)Flemish Regional government,
    3)Walloon Regional government,
    4)Brussels Regional government
5)Frech speaking "gov" if you want to call them government.. , we call them more a language community service
6)German speaking "gov" , those communities are responsible for education, well being, sport, media and culture, so they probably never have a say in the brexit deal,
2B)Dutch speaking community was fusioned with the Flemish government, if you count the Flemish government double for it 2 roles you can come to 7, but it is 6 cause of the fusion, that almost immediately was decided in the Flemish part after the creating of the 3 regions and 3 language communities.
But I get it, we have a pretty confusing country :p .

Two lights can be seen showing a
widening of the path to the end of
the Brexit controversy. One is the
price the UK is willing to pay, Northern
    Ireland.

The second way that is highlighted is
the release – the abandonment – of
Ireland by releasing it from the EU.

  35. @oneobekanobe

    January 10, 2024 at 1:31 am

Brexiteers continually hang on to the idea that the EU collapse is imminent. And judging from the thousands of comments including those from prominent Brexiteers its something they can't wait to see happen and in fact actively promoting its demise.

Nigel Farage and company see Brexit as a victory snatched from a battle lost by the EU. To put things into perspective this is a minority who, thanks to the media and their gluttonous appetite for sensationalism, have managed to elevate their radical thinking to be on par with rational debate.
Here is a true example of how devastating radical thinkers can be.

For thirty-five years the Hard Right South African government had done the exact same thing with Apartheid. They had elevated radical thinking to be on par with a rational debate to the level where they could argue the justification of Apartheid in parliamentary debates. Kind of what is going on in Britain right now with Brexit
Of course, the Brexiteers will disagree that they are not radical thinkers and that Brexit is by no means radical. After-all so many countries around the world operate on their own steam. But then consider this point; all the Brexiteers agree on one fundamental point and that is they want to be separated or as it is aptly dubbed, 'divorced' from the EU. In fact, the hardline Brexiteers are pushing for a No-Deal outcome. I argue that statement on its own qualifies as radical thinking because why would a country that has suffered from two World Wars waged on her doorstep, want to remain separated from the worlds biggest peace project ever launched on this planet, unless of course, they were radicals.

The Brexiteers choose to forget that the UK is part of Europe and along with its European cousins have had to face the most devastating wars ever recorded in history. What Brexiteers fail to understand that as long as the UK remains a separate entity she is a threat to the EU. Especially with an organization like NATO that is focused on Russia and the Middle East, both been front lines facing the Europeans. Are the Germans and Polish supposed to fight another devastating war on the Russian front to liberate the American anointed puppet government in Ukraine? Or must we stop Russian gas lines into Germany just in case the Russians benefit economically and start to live like decent human beings. We have already witnessed the carnage and subsequent chaotic refugee crisis caused in Syria by our 'liberating' efforts and the impacting effect it has had on Europe, albeit a negligible effect on the UK and the USA. I could go on listing all the good wars that have transpired and current ones all instigated and orchestrated by Washington with the blessings of Westminster, but I think I have made my point.
War is radical and peace is rational. I suspect there are those who are pandering to the American military industrialists for a chunk of change under the flag of Brexit. They are by far the real traitors of peace. Peace is more valuable than your economy. Without peace, you don't have an economy worth writing home about.
