I just thought, what are the improvment in chances that a normal could win if their cooked ingredients were plated by a professional. Would the look of it totally win over the judge regardless of how good it tastes?

Might either have a chef watching but unable to talk during the entire cooking time and then they get to plate what they've seen been planned.

Or maybe you take the normal's idea and then have a chef cook the very same thing (tortuerous I'm sure) but try to present every piece better than the normal did.

Jamie's was the one I would have chosen too

And now, a year later, we know that Ben just has absurd tolerance for citrus. To the point that others will double over or spasm and he won't flinch (round table poker face, he didnt realize his was the one messed up one.) My condolences to the food team XD

I hate bergamot. It ruins it just like cilantro. Yuk!

  5. @misszany1

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I Love how when Ebbers don't know what things are he just says: yes ^^

  6. @johnhopkins7246

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Sorry Ebbers! Grand Marnier IS 40%!

  7. @j.rinker4609

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I HATE lavender for being "perfume-y", so I might feel the same about bergamot.

  8. @j.rinker4609

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

    That's a ginormous watermelon radish!

  9. @j.rinker4609

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

    Is one of them jicama?

  10. @j.rinker4609

    Is one of them kohlrabi?

  11. @sirderpington7704

i like jamie tasting everything he hasn't seen before so he knows what they taste like

  12. @tinainfanti

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

    I would order Jamie's before Ben's .

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

the issue with working and cooking for British people is that they are very basic and pefer their basic familiar tastes to actual exotic tastes. imo. Ben shouldve stayed in British flavours and he wouldve won

"What is the juice of a kumquat called?" DON'T SET THIS MAN UP FOR THAT lol!

  15. @littlebigman5791

Gotta love how Baz asked the colour blind Jay what colours was infront of him

  17. @glasswingbutterfly

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Great fun… love how tickled Barry got at Jamie's bull in a china shop style of cooking… despite not knowing what most of the ingredients were, Jay tasted everything and so could identify where/how it could best be used. Brilliant and hilarious!

  18. @marthawilson444

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I loved seeing how each used each one used the ingredients. I wish I could have tasted them.

dons a foilhat I bet kush was the one vote for ben and that's why he's in the videos a lot more. Is it a reward or punishment, that I do not know.

  20. @SirWhiteRabbit-gr5so

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Sometimes Ben gets too-clever by half for his own good. Too chef-fy.

  21. @Vadigor

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Going into the harissa with the back end of a spoon instead of fetching another one. I've never related to anyone more. 👌

  22. @oldmanwithaswitch6619

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

OK, we need Dom, Arunah, Tom and Kush, teams of two, cooking against the other team, Ben and Jamie then judge without knowing which team did what!

  23. @philoctetes_wordsworth

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

    I still miss Baz’s beautiful, silky hair.❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥💋💋🫶🏻🇺🇸🌸

  24. @philoctetes_wordsworth

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

10:33 is it not pronounced, “ber-gam-O”?🙃🙃🙃

  25. @philoctetes_wordsworth

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

7:53 I am deeply confused. Did I just witness Buffy not knowing the difference between spiced rum, and Grand Mariner? Has he burned his whole tongue, recently? 🫶🏻🫶🏻💋🇺🇸🌸(relative to the video, of course.🤭🤭🤭)

  26. @philoctetes_wordsworth

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

0:51 rutabaga, or Swede, in the UK.🫶🏻🫶🏻💋🇺🇸🌸😊and then, a watermelon radish.

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Clearly there were three openings and one temporary position available after this video…..

  29. @vivichase

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Ben should definitely have won. But his indignant response was so worth it. XD

  30. @clarissanowag-nelson2152

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

for mystery box challenges, a point should be awarded for each ingredient used and then whoever tallies more should receive some bonus in the final decision

  31. @derdork3233

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I love how ben is identifying the ingredients by knowledge and what they look like and deciding by that what to do with them, while jamie just goes 'i'll just have a taste and decide what to do with that. Worked a lot easier with the rum for example.

  32. @jaymcvey3471

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I would LOVE to see a mystery box containing some Australian NATIVE INGREEDENTS LIKE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Kangaroo, Crocodile, Emu (Pronounced Em-you) finger limes, native lemon myrtle, salt bush plus other Australian native bush herbs etc.

This would be a GREAT challenge for the "normal"

    Jay from Australia

  33. @tomknight3243

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

I am with Ben Jamie winning makes no sense he didn't even know what he was using

  34. @Jan96106

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Ben's dish certainly looked better. No question. I'm not able to taste either one.

  35. @christopherlebel1241

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

Will, it pickle/slaw would be a great segment for Jamie lol

  36. @owenyeater2423

Does sorted food only hire super attractive people? You're all really pretty.

  37. @huggledemon32

    January 9, 2024 at 5:16 pm

6:49 just realised that Barry asked the COLOURBLIND guy to “look at the colours!”………I mean sure his particular type of colourblind might not be the red/green type, but if it IS!?- whoops!😅😂🤷‍♀️👍🏻🥰
