3:43 right, I’m very late to the party. Here’s a pet peeve though: “a selection of wild mushrooms” means next to nothing if there’s no further description of which ones.

I understand that this video was uploaded five and a half years ago but if you are going to say the links to the recipes are below and actually put links in, the links should be kept up to date so they do lead to the recipes. I get that you are trying to push people to use your paid app but in that case you should remove the links and remove the reference to them in the video wind up.

I think Barry should have won cos soufflé's are meant to be really difficult and I love the sound of Mike's, and Jamie's but if have to take the jalapenos off 🥵 x

Jamie made a Papa John’s Philly Cheesesteak Pizza with (unintentionally I’m sure) a Chicago-style cracker crust.

I was thinking about a Pass It On where all of the ingredients are leftovers from previous pass it ons. Logistically improbable, but it would be interesting.

For once I must disagree with Ben. I think Barry's use was unique enough for a brownie point, and I wouldn't have thought to make a bechamel as a dessert sauce. But to be fair, it might've tasted like ass for all I know.

I think you all should revisit sauces and maybe do a series on the mother sauces.

    Mike should have won!

Using mushrooms in the process of making the bachmel sauce was clever and mushroom vol-au-vent is delicious and classy.

It looks amazing, he clearly cooked it well and had tons of flavour in it. It was a very creative use of the sauce too, it was not something that would immediately spring to mind. Usually vol-au-vent is just cream instead of a bachemel sauce. The bachemel would add a richness and more full body than cream alone, thus improving on the original recipie.

As much as I would have loved Jamie's pizza, which I think certainly ticked the flavour box, I think it was not as well presented as Mikes and using cheese sauce for a cheesy pizza, was not as bold and creative as Mike.

As for Barry, I feel like he missed the brief again. It is a sauce battle yes… but you are supposed to use the bachmel sauce not make a completely separate chocolate one.

Mike improved the sauce itself, maintaining it as a bachemel sauce (sticking to the brief) and used the sauce creatively to better an existing recipie.

    Mike should have won!
