   Mr Mogg's comments are more convenient than convincing or correct.
   The overwhelming aim of the Empire and Commonwealth was the
   enrichment of Britain. If some subjects gained from this it was purely
   instrumental to this end–not an intentional act of generosity or real
   affection. Sometimes brutal as real historians will relate.

   Just think of the state of the world if it was left to mud hut dwellers, think of all the wild life programs where one clan of meerkats over throw the incumbent, or apes and their social network, we have laws to protect the weak ( or wealthy depending on your view) its not perfect but your free to leave and make a go of it in whatever land you choose ( as long as you follow their rules and religion) so Femi please feel free to use your freedom that this great country has fought hard for and go live like your ancestors in some back water.

    Fed up with people slating the UK, if you are not happy leave our country, if you wish to leave the commonwealth then leave, look what happened to Kenya and Uganda the African leaders ousted the Asian Kenyans and Ugandans out they took all their money and came to the UK and have done very well thank you. To this day UK charities are still helping these two countries

    Britain has such a long history both positive and negative as do many other countries. We should be proud to be the people we are today people have empathy love respect equality human rights I'm religious respect. These are the actions of a modern society. The sins of Our Fathers are not our sins! Are ancestors were essentially cavemen in compared to modern society. To say that Britain hasn't contributed to the world in both positive and negative ways is disingenuous. Especially when we look at modern technologies and innovation of today, innovation and scientific knowledge and exploration is being carried out and achieved by Western societies. For example what scientific discoveries or technology has Africa created and the answer is they haven't because of Africa is oppressive to its own people and western societies are not. Africans aren't given the Education, freedoms and equality by their own government as we are here in western societies. So in a nutshell the West has shared technology around the world to countries which today help poor countries whose own government is corrupt against its own people. The amount of aid money that is sent to Africa from Nations all across the globe if it was given correctly by Africa's government Africans wouldn't be living in poverty unable to gain access to basic foods and health care and they wouldn't be living in straw houses. African's government in which is themselves not the country and the people within. And it's sad because Africans who move to Western societies go to Western colleges and universities are just a successful as any other human being on the planet but I'm not given the opportunities in their own countries to become successful. Because of their government's Greed and corruption. Why can't we remember the sins of our past but Embrace the achievements of the present. Instead of dictating to other countries why aren't we empowering their people to rise up against their own governments corruption. Help citizens in these countries take power back from their corrupt governments into the hands of Citizens who love and respect their country and its people.
