This video is why barry never should have won it all

It was fun to watch and the only comment i would like to make is for Mike. I wish you had more confidence in your abilities. I have watched many episodes and he always says he isnt capable nor does he know what he is doing. NOT TRUE

13:51 Does Barry say "boon full" or is it just in the edit? His gibberish has improved over the years, but it does occasionally pop out to say hi.

I agree with Ben taking Barry’s spice badge away.
    This is the whole idea.
I love this series so much

Is 10 minutes a long time? Yes…When I was in peak form, I could properly break a chicken into these parts in…less than two minutes. My record was about 85 seconds, and I've worked with people who can do it faster.

I love coming back to this video 😂 Barry's finest hour for sure 😂😂😂

Why not put all 3 cooks in the kitchen at the same time. It would save time in the long run.

  8. @kelindel1

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

I like Barry, but he so deserved losing that badge.

A tip for peeling boiled eggs, before boiling, put a pin prick hole in the base and then when it comes to taking off the shell, it’s much easier

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

You should actually season the eggs before cooking with scrambled eggs, there’s a bit of a myth that it makes it more watery, Kenji Alt-Lopez did in depth study of this and it’s a super fascinating read/ watch, but he found the eggs texture improve when salted before hand and left for about 5 minutes before cooking

This is why Barry is my least fave. Because he doesn't fucking listen. The instructions have been said. He doesn't listen. He feels like he is good when he isn't. Try listening bud. You will do better.

I've just discovered this channel and have been bingeing for days. Very entertaining. According to Neil Degrasse Tyson, the egg came first but the animal that laid the egg wouldn't be classified as a chicken

  13. @PuReWiReZ

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Eggs came before the Chicken because Dinosaurs laid eggs and became chickens…

  14. @timthompson3569

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

OK, so what exactly did Barry do wrong with his mayo? I know he added an extra yolk but it wasn't coming together even before that.

  15. @Indoorcat13

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

First off I would like to say Mike and Jamie harmonized beautifully in the outro and I eagerly await them to drop thier 1st album. Secondly, Mike faces when Barry got mad at the end was absolutely pricless. Keep the amazing content coming and I cannot wait to see who eventually wins the badges competition.

I had a lot of laughs at poor Barry's expense, but honestly bro we all have off days. I hope you can look back and laugh at this, cause it's hilarious

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Which came first the chicken or or the egg?

My theory is dinosaurs came before chickens and dinosaurs came from eggs.
    Therefore eggs came 1st. Imo

  20. @VirtualHolocaust

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

im with the one guy i hate scrambled eggs that dont look done. i like the really hard scramble.

  21. @joshua5g

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

If you pierce the bottom of an egg with a needle before boiling them, they will never crack, they will form whole (unpierced boiled eggs tend to have a flat bottom where an air bubble would be), and they will be a breeze to peel.

  22. @mikeziter501

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

From a biological and evolutionary perspective, the egg came first. Eggs have been around for millions of years, laid by non-chicken ancestors of the chicken that eventually evolved into chickens. Therefore, eggs have been around longer than chickens and thus predate them.

    TLDR: Egg first, chicken l8er.

Really mean Ben. Undermining him during the cook off. Dirty tactics. Could have waited until after.

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

The singing at the end! Give them a singer badge they totally deserve it!

  26. @korvisus

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

dont like the narrow interpretation of what is good and what is not good. mike's scrambled eggs were the best. i dont want egg-goo. i want scrambled eggs. there is no right way to do scrambled eggs as long as it is not overcooked (brown), and is, in fact, scrambled. i would say consistent consistency is probably pretty important. and barry losing the spice badge? based on this video only, he lost a spice badge because he had never heard of some obscure spice combination? no chef knows every spice combination that goes into every dish known to man. being good at identifying which spices (and permutations of spices) go well together, and what ratios to use them in is what makes somebody proficient at using spices, in my opinion.

  27. @Rizartha

your start of the sound of silence was quite nice.

Rewatching this again and thought I'd drop a quick tip. When I used to work for this one bakery in SF, they had me peeling 30 to 60 eggs a day, everyday, for the 6 months that I was there (it was my fave task LOL). They gave me their way of doing it which was to use a spoon top tap the egg and make cracks so its easier to peel off, had to be gentle because they had me peeling really soft boiled eggs. But eventually I created a faster method.

At the bottom of every egg is an airpocket, always start from there. Then peel in a single line until you reach the top of the egg. From there you can easily just pull off the rest of the shell.

if anyone reads this: cross contamination from raw chicken can give you a bacterial infection called campylobacter jejuni. look it up. awful. I've had it for 3 months. AWFUL.

  36. @popsock1

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Catching up on old videos and finding this very educational…. and endlessly hilarious! 😂
I genuinely half expected the boys to start coming to blows – well, Barry going for a swing anyway, given he was practically vibrating with anger! 😅 Hope he’s gotten over it by now. 😊
To be fair, I agree with badges being awarded for a skill learned (and retained), so it feels appropriate to remove badges for skills subsequently ‘forgotten’.

I had given up on making poached eggs but now am keen to try the technique in the video. Also using fridge-cold eggs to ensure a jammy middle makes so much sense!
Was also fascinated by the butchering of the chicken – have never attempted with raw chicken, only (just about) with cooked chicken, but would now definitely give it a try with a whole uncooked chicken! 👍🏻👍🏻

  37. @acelilumelody4445

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

The egg came first. Its not even a riddle. Eggs started being evolved almost a billion years ago. Chicken came into existance about 10,000 years ago.

  38. @7hl24ll

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Leave it to these guys to make chicken fingers sound as fancy as possible when said outloud hahahaha. They're just tendies my guy. 😛

They’re so gentle peeling the egg lol. I crack and roll mine and then squish it lightly in the bowl of cold water and the water gets under the skin and it peels right off. Gotta be a bit more aggressive! 😆

Knife skills ? chefs knife for the big joints, boning knife for the breast…..well thats how I do it

  46. @philrobbie1670

    January 3, 2024 at 6:07 pm

i dont get that 'what came first the chicken or the egg?' question, it is empirically the egg, the evolutionary precursors to chickens were egg layers, so the first thing that was ever called a chicken is predated by millennia by eggs

    Peel eggs underwater easier

Published

We still can’t believe we got away with filming this… right in the middle of a busy lunch service at Fallow in London 😅

The whole team are absolute pros.
And this is where our broth journey both started… and ended.

We’re incredibly grateful to @fallowchefs for trusting us and being such a big part of this video.

Moments like this are what made the Chef’s broth video so special, and why it means even more that it’s now been nominated for a Webby Award, basically the Oscars of the Internet!

If you love what we created, and want to celebrate the incredible London scene – we’d LOVE your vote.

It takes 10 seconds – link in bio Thank you 🙏
