I don’t understand the shortage of lorry drivers. Nobody seemed to have problems getting their online parcels in the lockdowns (there was no shortage then) Maybe all the lorry drivers have gone to work for Amazon.

Covid crises, fuel crises, NHS crises, co2 crises, does this ever stop? No, because crises gives the government( or rather it gives itselves) even more power. Governments loves crisis.

Johnson is using this 'crisis' to push his idiotic climate change agenda.

Richard keep repeating the mantra over and over again , its nothing to do with Brexit and maybe people will start to believe you!
and while you are at it also mention Winston Churchill and how we won the war that will help you too!
also talk about the fantastic trade deals we have achieved since we left the EU
now cheer up you won so get over it because you are boring me to death!

Another false news report, as well as there is a world wide HVD lorry shortage

Flopsy Boris was last seen socialising with Kermit. Labour would be even much worse. We are up an insanitary creek lacking paddles. Reform is the only hope.

You aint seen nothing yet. Due to the insane net zero drivel of this fool's government and previous government clowns, we will be facing a winter of huge energy bills, power cuts and energy poverty. God help us if this is a cold winter as we have 4 days gas reserve. This is a fraction of the 2017 figure. Germany has about 8 weeks. The energy crisis is due entirely to deliberate planning by science illiterate members of parliament. Keep safe and I hope, warm.

The real problem is the DVLA holding up thousands of hgv licenses and not being able to process ( work ) from home.

Brexit the gift that keeps on giving 👍

  15. @theresamarie1379

    January 3, 2024 at 10:26 am

A few months ago there was a report saying that by 2030 HGV drivers will be obsolete being replaced by electric vans combined with the new rail infrastructure. You've only got to look at the huge warehouses lining the main roads in this country to see the change. So the government aren't going to invest in an industry that hasn't got a future.

  16. @entropy5431

    January 3, 2024 at 10:26 am

I can't see the petrol shortages being anything to do with Brexit. What puzzles me is that if there has been a shortage of drivers for ages, why have the wages not increased as demand exceeded supply?

  17. @paulineashcroft1485

    January 3, 2024 at 10:26 am

Pay hard working people a fair wage, give them decent working conditions, treat them respectfully and they will work for you. Who knew?

  18. @angiegallagher8630

    January 3, 2024 at 10:26 am

The horrible mainstream media is responsible for this mess! People need to stop supporting the mainstream media and start supporting independent media.

  19. @maxclive2138

    January 3, 2024 at 10:26 am

What the hell…..if Brexit isn't to blame why are we offering foreign drivers temp visas? Oh BTW there are no fuel issues i.e the chaoes we see here, in Europe despite hgv driver shortages.

It's OK a giving truck drivers 20pound a hour. It's respect from the bosses not to tell them to go over there hours of driving let's compness bosses will try to pay less. Well I would dump the load if don't they don't pay the going rate.
Because truck drivers are holding the cards now.
    Know your worth.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
