Never understand this vegan thing. Yes I understand the diet & helping the environment. But it's like let's go vegan but I want steak, burgers, chicken & all the meat but not meat.

The truth is, sushi grade as a label isn't actually regulated by the FDA. In fact, there is no official definition for what makes a fish "sushi grade." In many cases, sushi grade is simply used as a marketing term to make certain fish more attractive to consumers. While the FDA’s guidelines recommend freezing fish at very low temperatures to effectively kill parasites, actual enforcement is left up to local health officials. However, some cities, such as the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, have implemented laws that require restaurants to freeze raw seafood before serving it to customers as sushi or ceviche.

Why do you keep going on about the plastic packaging? Our local council has a wheely bin for plastic and cans and foil packaging. You would NEVER get me to eat the vegan gunk, tried it once tasted disgusting.

Jaime had so much fun with his commentary (vommentary?). I love watching him (and the rest of the guys) explain his process.

The sushi kit was clever, the burger kit was a waste of time.
Buy the burger ingredients separately and cook your own. A burger does not require a kit. The tarte might be worth it. Not sure.

Beyond burgers are not very good, they taste nothing like beef. They taste like a Boca burger which is much cheaper.

  28. @andrelabuschagne2478

I liked the first and third diy kits. Im not much of a vegan. So i would not buy it.

  29. @sammysoppy3361

    January 3, 2024 at 9:11 pm

I mean for that vurger kit you could just go big beyond burgers yourself and tomato, lettuce, buns and cut up a potato. you won’t get the sauce but like i don’t see a particularly special value here since it’s not a homemade patty you can ONLY get through them

I've had impossible meat before and while I thought it was actually pretty good, until I got really, really sick afterwards. One impossible burger left me bedridden for two days. I have bad reactions to most soy products (fermented ones like soy sauce seem to be okay) that range from upset stomach to violent projections from both ends. And there's rarely any warnings about it on food packaging. Last I checked you still have to look up what leghemoglobin is to know it's soy on the impossible foods products.
