How to avoid making mistakes with your money – BBC News

Published

on

If you’re worried about rising costs, you’re probably not alone.

Prices are rising and wages aren’t keeping up. It means our doesn’t go as far.

The main reason is the rising global price of energy. This has meant higher energy and transport bills for businesses, many of whom pass on the extra costs to customers.

But what drives us to spend and we can make better financial decisions?

Other "practical solutions": Spend only on necessities, Vote wisely, Always invest what you can and while at it, ensure you spread your investments (locally and internationally) but of course be well informed about where you want to put your money. Made my first million this way earlier this year (got help though). Pay close attention to your well being(that way, you spend less on sickness and maximize productivity). WE WILL BE FINE!

How can anyone make a 14 minute video about "making better financial decisions", scarcity, saving for the future, financial literacy, and the negative effects of inflation on prices and the cost of living, and fail to mention Bitcoin (or even gold) once? Bizarre! This is exactly what Bitcoin was created to protect people from.
btw, this is actually talking about "currency" not "money". I would bet that, if asked, the experts in this piece would be totally unable to describe what the specific qualities differentiating money and currency are. This level of understanding is important if people want to understand the best financial strategies to take.
Meanwhile, the GBP price of a whole bitcoin was £42,000 when this video was uploaded (you can of course have just a fraction). Thoroughly looking forward to seeing the comments years in the future remarking on what a bargain that was! I wonder how many countries will have adopted it as a form of legal tender by then? lol

The idea of avoiding mistakes with finances is unrealistic. We are all going to make mistakes with money. Even if a person manages to get a good portion of their finances right, there are going to be forces acting against their otherwise good financial choices. Forces which are unforeseeable and thus uncontrollably.

The solution is to be vigilant and to act quickly whenever you detect a Black Swan doing a Kamekazi dive toward your money.

Most ordinary investors lose all their money. The financial industry is complex and when the average person thinks he will get rich investing I honestly believe it's a huge delusion. Let's see what the next crash does to ordinary investors. I bet many of them will be joining the ranks of the poor and not the rich.

Since I was a kid I have been saving my whole life for gifts like for Mother's Day and buy stuff for college. First time I have ever bought myself clothing. I was 16 years old and I was in a charity shop (Cancer Research) in Luton (my hometown) and bought a £3 pair of trousers. I still buy cheap clothing over designer. I buy the cheapest version of tech.

Prepare dinner for three days in one pot. Eat two portions, put one in the freeser. Spend less money to unhealthy ingredients. Do not hold back on healthy ingredients. Brush your teeth 2 times a day, morning and evening. And when you achieve your dream or comfortable life, give back. 🤝

We only can stop spending or buy cheap goods.but securing our money is simply not in our hands.even we actually do not have or own any money. It all belongs to the kabal.Entire banking system is theirs.they make the policies and make people sometimes rich and some times beggars. What if there are no jobs and businesses are shut down.people lose all sources of money making. What if the supply chain is at stand still and there are no goods to buy.your topic is not right of securing or saving the money.because you do not have any money.you do not have any control on your banks, your entire manufacturing system is fcked up and your manufacturing is shifted out side of your countries by the kabal.you no longer make things.you are totally dependent on supply chains who provide you all necessities.so over all we all are totally dependent on the cult.now cult engineered corona drama and halted they supply chain and we all were simply helpless.
Securing money us not important.actually securing money is not good.blowing money helps economy and society.actual trouble is no manufacturing in the countries and useless and endless imports.more bigger problem is private banks and money systems.kabal's actual power is the banking system and all other money systems.you westerners have lost all your skills and manufacturing.for a short time your currencies will be used as world currencies and then they will be dumped.since there is no manufacturing so there is no research in your countries.
Stop thinking about saving money.saving money means shrinking the economy.bring back entire manufacturing, take total control of entire money system.Stop total imports.make everything domestically.and there will be no shortages of jobs, there will be no poverty and everything will be just fine.
Oh get rid of zionism and secret societies and mention religion on your passports and in all national identity documents.separate the leeches and get rid of them.get back to Christianity or Islam or any other religion you belong to.It's the best and trustworthy shelter.give total importance to your own local people and totally illuminate immigration.immigrants are a real headache and suckers.good luck world.

Cyber Attack: Ransomware causing chaos globally – BBC News

Published

on

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Is this AI’s moment of truth? | BBC News

Published

on

A year ago, artificial intelligence was being sold as something close to science fiction — a technology that could transform society, cure disease, even reshape the global economy.

Today, the tone is changing. The companies leading the revolution are racing to the stock market — chasing billions in investment — while quietly confronting a much harder reality: AI is expensive, unpredictable, and far from profitable.

At the same time, some of the very people building this technology are warning we may be going too fast — even calling for a global pause.
And beyond Silicon Valley, a different story is emerging: growing public anxiety, political backlash, and the rise of what some are calling anti-AI populism.

So is AI entering its most pivotal moment yet — caught between financial pressure, technological risk, and political resistance?

AI Decoded Presenter Christian Fraser is joined by Financial Times AI Editor Madhumita Murgia, Thematic Strategist at Deutsche Bank Research Adrian Cox and Richard Coffin, Host of popular investing podcast ‘ The Plain Bagel’.
