Russian military moves into firing positions around Ukraine capital Kyiv – BBC News
The Russian military convoy that had been outside Kyiv appears to be on manoeuvers, taking up positions around towns near Kyiv.
US officials say that Russian forces have moved closer to Kyiv in the last 24 hours in what could be a renewed push.
More people are leaving their homes as fears grow of use of chemical weapons. At the same time volunteers are arriving in Kyiv to help fight the Russian invasion.

US President Donald Trump has said fears about the safety of artificial intelligence (AI) are a “hoax”, as he criticised calls to have more guardrails in place for the fast-moving technology.
OpenAI boss Sam Altman thinks people should have more faith in his company and others like it to do the right thing when it comes to AI development amid rising public concerns about all the risks.
“The world should trust that we are going to do the right thing because it’s the right thing and we feel the magnitude of this,” Altman said on Tuesday during a conference in San Francisco.
However, Altman noted that people were justified in their fears around AI, as the capability of the tools has progressed rapidly.

US President Donald Trump has doubled down on his support for a united Ireland.
He’s on day two of a visit, which he is spending at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, County Clare, for the Irish Open.
On Saturday, Trump told reporters he would love to see a united Ireland while at a meeting with the Taoiseach (Irish PM) Micheál Martin in Dublin.
Speaking on Sunday at his Doonbeg golf resort, he said it would be natural to put Ireland and Northern Ireland “together”.
He spoke to reporters after watching the tournament leader Irish golfer Shane Lowry tee off.

It is NOT American war, we have to make sure every step we take, it's not going to jeopardize our endgame. Once war began, it never followed the script. If US. to send jet to Ukraine it will lead to a wider war with nuclear in the picture and NO ONE win. And we the US. don't want that.
I HATE all these Ukrainians politician who put pressure on US. to do something, it is not as simple as you wish it to be. For example, like this guy (a member of Ukraine parliament) or Zelenskyy himself who inexperience & incompetence & so dame determine (stubborn) refused to compromise one request that Putin has for Ukraine not to become NATO member.
Again, the conflicts are between Ukraine and Russia, you need to work it out (peace talk should continue and Ukraine should compromise if you could). Agree to none-member of NATO as you (Ukraine) should know you can't be a member as the Ukraine's Donbas Conflicts hasn't stop since 2014, and NATO can't take a change accepting Ukraine and have direct conflict with Putin. The conflicts between Russia and Ukraine had been going on for years, you tricked US once in 2014 and you not going to tricks us again this time around
I am as an American citizen; I don't wish my country to go to the war with anyone again after we just have a break less than a year ago. I wish the Russia and Ukraine to continue have a peace talk and work on the differences than get US. involve with their conflicts. I am done with having US. participating with any war at all.
