Meta was ordered to pay $25bn (£18.6bn) by a judge in New Mexico after a two-week trial earlier this year which found it had spent years lying to the public about how it handled Facebook user data.
“The lies extend beyond Facebook’s data practices as well,” the judge said, adding they went to “the heart of Facebook’s core business practices”.
Meta’s head lawyer CJ Mahoney said the ruling made it “all but impossible to do business in the state of New Mexico”. The company intends to appeal, which Mahoney says will be successful.
New Mexico’s lawsuit stemmed from the role of Meta in what became known as the Cambridge Analytica scandal and New Mexico had also accused the company of intentionally misleading the public on how it benefitted from content that included hate speech.

Donald Trump says it’s “largely true” that the US-Israel war in Iran was responsible for sweeping Republican losses in the US midterm elections.
His comments come after US Vice-President, JD Vance, said in an social media post “the reason we lost is the war.”
The President has said he has no plans for immediate strikes on Iran after the vote, but the region remains on alert for any further military action.

The Red China(PRC) recently blocks the all the south Korean citizens who defected from north Korea and now living south Korea from entering into China mainland by denying the visa against them in Seoul. It makes impossible for the defector citizens to meet their childeren left behind in China who were born between the Chinese father and the femaile dectors who sold to the father. Also children defectors left behind in China separated by the human traffickers. They also desperatly try to contact the families in north Korea. The Chinese government's action of the blocking entrance is inhumane and unfair against legal south Korean citizen. China is also contructing thousands kilometers of barbed wire fense along the Vietnam, Laos and Miyanmar border to make it hard to escape by defectors in addition to the already built one at north Kroea border. It is clear violation of the UN Refugee Agreement that China signed on in that China arrests and send back the defectors who are arrested along the south Asian and Mongolian borders since they are the clearly political asylum seekers who want to go to south Korea, not the simple economic normad that China insists.

The easiest way to kill or end a dictator is if you simply stop following him. But there’s just so many weak minded people who are scared to turn in ONE man. This happened when Hitler was in control. All people had to do was say “no” to the conditions they put innocent people through. But in some cases, most people under a dictator enjoyed that same control.
