Johnson’s New Brexit Deal Explained (and Will it Pass) – Brexit Explained
Yesterday UK and EU finally reached a new agreement for Brexit. While substantially similar to the deal that May secured last year, there are some major differences that we discuss in this video. These include changes to the customs arrangements, taxation, and concent. We also discuss the reaction to this deal and whether it has any hope of getting through Parliament.

The UK should just annex ROI and reunify Ireland into a single state like Scotland, Wales, and England, and then they would be part of the UK. It would be called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as its new name! Simple :). Russia annexed The Crimea and got away with it so we should do the same to ROI. If the ROI tries to resist we could easily nullify them by laying down martial law to enforce peace.

This sound like NI is not very important for England. Give it some time and they will have a referendum on the Irish unification. Scotland is preparing for the new referendum and I think everyone’s life would have been easier if England just declared independence, left the UK and the EU.

This is why it makes more sense for a no-deal Brexit where Britain gets the advantages of being in the single market (where goods can just pass from England to Northern Ireland and smuggled to Ireland because it is not possible to enforce that border) without having to pay $39 Billion for access.
Then if Britain can get a free trade agreement with the US, then Northern Ireland will be the biggest legitimate smuggling hub in the world as goods and money cross as hard cash in unmarked vehicles without labeling as a low-speed global free trade.
@evaahh9584
January 1, 2024 at 9:58 am
The DUP refuses to handle the border issue because they don’t want to save the EU and it’s disgusting. They say they don’t want a border outside Northern Ireland because it’d treat Northern Ireland differently. But they also don’t want it to be inside Northern Ireland… they can’t have both.

Please can you provide some commentary on what’s in the deal in relation to the core EU/UK workings? Immigration, movement of goods and people, and commercial impacts. We seem to be caught up in the Ireland issue, which whilst important is a logistical side issue to the main event.
@tomroberts1105
January 1, 2024 at 9:58 am
Is there any way Johnson can arrange the vote so it's a vote for the deal, a vote for No-Deal or abstention with no ability to simply say no to everything? ie the Ayes are voting for a deal, the nays are voting for no-deal (rather than for 'This deal isn't everything I wanted. No.')
