HPV vaccine cutting cervical cancer by nearly 90% – BBC News
The human papillomavirus, or HPV, vaccine is cutting cases of cervical cancer by nearly 90%, the first real-world data shows.
Cancer Research UK described the findings as “historic”, and said it showed the vaccine was saving lives.
Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by viruses, and the hope is vaccination could almost eliminate the disease.
The researchers said the success meant those who were vaccinated may need far fewer cervical smear tests too.
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women around the world, killing more than 300,000 each year.

A BBC News investigation has uncovered failures in the diagnosis of serious medical issues during private baby scans.
More than 200 studios across the UK now sell ultrasound scans, with hundreds of thousands being carried out each year.
But the BBC has uncovered evidence of women not being told about serious conditions and abnormalities.
The Care Quality Commission says there is good quality care in the industry but it has a “growing concern”.

Activities which strengthen the muscles – like weightlifting – should be part of an older person’s weekly exercise routine, a study suggests.
People doing both aerobic and muscle exercises were more likely to live longer than those who did just one or the other, US researchers found.
But you don’t have to go to the gym – carrying heavy shopping bags, digging in the garden and pilates all count.

‘Our Paula Is Gone’
Paula Aldea was a normal, healthy young girl. Since taking the HPV vaccine, she can no longer walk and now relies on a wheelchair. “Our Paula is gone,” her father said.
According to The Epoch Times documentary “Under the Skin,” on May 26, 2022, Paula received her first HPV vaccination. On June 25, she called her father at 10:25 a.m., crying at a bus stop and needing him to quickly come to get her—she could no longer feel her legs.
The pain in her back became unbearable, and then her back went numb. Paula and her father went straight to the emergency room and after some chiropractic exercises, she was told she’d be fine in a few hours and was sent home. At 3:00 p.m. her mother called her father and said, “Come home immediately. Paula doesn’t feel anything from her body anymore.”.

James Lyons-Weiler, Ph.D., a critic of the global HPV vaccine campaign, suggested mass vaccination will cause a devastating number of serious side effects among young girls, even though there are still no studies showing the HPV vaccine prevents cancer, despite claims to the contrary by vaccine makers and public health officials.
