You could have exercised the basic decency and courtesy to refer to the Prime Minister by his full name!!

I feel sure that irreverence is not the way you were brought up, the bona fide media refer to the PM and to other politicians by their full names, perhaps you would kindly do so in future? Your approach in this respect, which is otherwise a reasonable and informative presentation, lacks polish and professionalism and comes across as slovenly. Also is it really unnecessary to use a minor expletive in the title of your presentation?

I hope these two points are helpful and taken onboard as constructive, criticism with good intentions rather than a blatant disrespectful and personal attack on you. I would otherwise willing subscribe to your channel but for the reasons I mention above which need professionally addressing.

The Idea that Bojo wants to keep as many people happy as possible, is a misperception. The proposal is designed for rejection, not to make anybody happy.

the simplest solution is just have a free trade agreement between UK and EU. whats wrong with that?

  7. @gopalphamber

    December 31, 2023 at 12:35 pm

Exploration is why i don't wanna see a physical border or even one solely based on technology. The right way to do it would be the form larger body made up of citizens from wherever, including those who would still be citizens of the EU, this method would ensure that proper checks are done. It would create jobs and it can be a way to form a bridge between the states of Ireland, UK and the UE. A bridge that can represent continued strong relationships between states

The EU has an exterior border between Norway and Sweden – Norway is not a member of the Customs Union or the Single Market, and Sweden is, but there is no hard border. Can someone please explain to me why so many people are arguing that there would have to be a hard border on the island of Ireland following a No Deal Brexit? If Norway and Sweden can manage without one, surely Britain and the Republic of Ireland can too?

8:50 "Johnsons deal tries to keep as many people happy as possible" – no it doesn't only the DUP and some Torries are happy. Most others with just the slightest knowledge of this, knows it isn't a deal that is presented in good faith or could ever be agreed to.

first off, as someone who used to design instructional videos, I think your content is amazing! Especially the graphics. Wow!

thanks for the update. I'm in the US, so it doesn't really affect me, but it's still fascinating. I have one question, and maybe you can make a video about it, although it's probably too late in the process to open this can of worms. It's been discussed tangentially, but it's still confusing because it's never been the central topic of its own discussion.

Denmark and Sweden are in the EU (somehow) but Norway is not. And yet, there does not seem to be any big deal with goods travelling between the countries. Ditto for Switzerland – not in the EU, but surrounded by five EU countries. Why are transactions across those borders not an issue?

    December 31, 2023 at 12:35 pm

Here's a simple solution, A) Just cancel BREXIT B) Have another BREXIT referendum, with the result being bound into law or C) Give Northern Ireland a referendum to rejoin the Republic of Ireland, so we don't have an issue with a land border

So they have to follow EU rules and still have to deal with not just one border but 2? not really sure how Northern Ireland benefits from this, It's like the worst of both worlds

Boris Johnson is a fraud. A massive, living, breathing, walking pantomime act.
We're talking about a PM who, in 2016, was still talking about "deciding how to vote" and arguing that it was in "Britain's geostrategic interests to be pretty intimately engaged" with Europe. He does not believe the BS that's coming out of his own mouth. He know's full well what a No Deal Brexit would mean. We're idiots for believing this clown.

As we've seen so far, Parliament is even less likely to agree to do something Johnson wants than they are to agree with each other, but Johnson is going to refuse to step down if there's a vote of no confidence. Nobody can force him to step down except the queen, who wouldn't dare because it could compromise support for the monarchy, and another GE will leave Parliament either evenly split or with a slight Brexit coalition majority. So,what happens now? No-deal Brexit is happening on the 31st, that's all but guaranteed now, but how will the UK govern itself after? Good luck getting an EU trade deal that more-or-less reestablishes Schengen through Parliament, or a US trade deal that sells the NHS to Anthem and MediCorp for pennies on the dollar. An independent Scotland will create a strong and permanent Conservative majority, that will still be able to do nothing but keep their guy as PM because of internal divisions over Schengen and the NHS.

Unless Rupert Murdoch and all of his children die in a freak plane crash, Corbyn will never be PM, but Labor's base has fought off multiple coup attempts against him, and even a Blairist alternative would still lose the GE because there would be nothing to distinguish them from the Tories except Brexit…which will have already happened. So since Boris can't govern, a GE will probably result in another split, the opposition will never get past The Sun and Daily Mail no matter who they elect party leader, and none of the realistic post-No Deal trade deals are any more acceptable than May's Brexit deal, does the UK just continue being paralyzed and government-less forever, like Northern Ireland? Does Boris dissolve Parliament and pull an Oliver Cromwell? Does someone else do that against him in the future? Historically, countries don't continue like this forever because they get torn apart in their weakness by outside forces, but the UK doesn't really have any hostile outside forces that the US and Europe won't protect them from. At least, none big enough to erase a dysfunctional country from the map the way the Romans, Carolingians, Chinese (several times), or Ottomans were. 2019's UK is truly unprecedented.
