Being an Irishman [and a Canadian Yukoner too] I love mashed potatoes. I always add in double cream at the end and then in with a large raw egg and beat the hell out of it to prevent it cooking scrambled egg! Delicious!!

"Chicken Parma" is about as Italian as "spaghetti&meatballs", KFC or Curry.
I get it, you guys are English.l If something isn't cooked in a pie or slathered in baked beans you immediately think it's Italian.

You won't even do a proper playlist (those episdoes are one – not in order, two – some are missing), but you dare to say "yo pay us over 30 eur to watch us do stuff that should be in episodes, but it was popular so we decided to put it behind paywall for eternity".

"Wedding rings" plural??? Is he Morman or is it far more tragic than that? 🤔🤫

I know I'm late commenting on this, but I don't understand why plating is considered so much in a mid-week meal kind of battle.

I’m going to say after Re watching this,I think Barry’s score was low.

Would like to see a powder challenge, so citric acid, sodium citrate etc and see what recipes chefs & normals makes.

  14. @Linkolod

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

This was a shockingly compelling mini-series (or series, by British TV standards)
There's almost some tension in seeing how ingredients recur, how dishes adapt as ingredients run short

    Great videos

why is he keeping the garlic clove at the edge of the stove and not with the other ingredients! 😂

  17. @daniwalmsley611

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

I feel like ebbers deliberately underscored jamies dishes bc of how impressive overall performance was, I don't disagree that barry should have won, his execution was incredible and jamie slightly overcooked his chicken

  18. @katmort1282

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Honest with home cooked meals with kids especially plating isn’t essential. Also I find it funny that in American grading Barry got a +C and Jamie got -C almost a +D. Mike F😂

  19. @Captain_Ista

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

To be honest, Jamie showing how MUCH he can make with the same budget limitations and still competing that close with Barry would have been worth a badge if you ask me. He could stretch the given budget to feed four people each day, easy. I'd say within the confines of the challenge that is worth an extra few points.

Well done, Jamie👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Well done, everyone. Such lovely inspiration. That cacciatore mozzarella brûlée thing sounded delish! I also make a roasted garlic and spinach mash.😋

Jaime, the everyman. I love his style of cooking and talk about bang for your buck! Rooting for you every time, J-man!

  22. @DarkRubberDucky

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

I love that Jamie failed the brief of food waste, yet managed to feed more people with the same amount of money to feed two.

    Noice!

  24. @sp3lllz

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Personally I think Jamie should have won this the guy made enough for 4 people on the same budget and that has to count for something

  25. @TheRealMrBeard

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

"Ebbers, count me in… In Italian!"
    "…3,2,1"

    I'm screaming 😂

Jamie's is the type of food my husband will love. Thank you for this! I'll be making all of them this week 🙂

  28. @bloodwolfblacktree

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

I know this is an older video, and Jamie does have my win (I love a good bit of leftovers), but I feel for Mike. I've had bad days in the kitchen, and I've been absolutely wrecked. But chin up, I'm sure it was still tasty for my palate (broke college student).

  29. @DarkScion07

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

100% … i felt for Jamie on the clingfilm, we've all been there and now i pay extra for the kind that tears easily. >_>

I’m not liking Ebbers scoring. 😒

Please bring this back. loved this

  33. @ChokyoDK

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

The bigger dishes just show how much further Jamie can stretch the budget and leftovers for more days are never a bad thing!

  34. @McPsychonaut

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Jamie's dishes looked and sounded leagues better than Barry's

  35. @alexandrasmith7682

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Still laughing my ** off ….. £24 for two sets of two meals so £12 a set ….. And 30 minutes cooking time per set. What world are you guys living in? I home cook virtually every night ….. Thirty minutes is plenty of time and £12 is luxury …. And I shop at Waitrose, M&S, and local butcher.

  36. @YesYes-xb6he

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

He was robbed, only one who did 6 equally good and filling plates imo, both of the others had a meal that would have left you hungry for an evening

  37. @benjaminmcginty6302

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

I won't lie; after a day on my physical job I'd happily eat most if not all of one of the portions Jamie prepared

  38. @davidmcivor2761

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

I’d like to see them given a £24 budget but with a sneaky twist, if they can save some money from their budget, maybe by using bog of or value ranges, to get an additional frugal badge!

  39. @lyinarbaeldeth2456

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Jamie's my winner without question. His food looked the most inviting, and there was so much of it! Big portions! Leftovers! No ingredients wasted! Absolute standout.

  40. @97llama

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

its a mid week meal that last thing i care about is presentation XD i want a good sized dinner within a budget and jamie delivered that in spades. im saying it now he was robbed

  41. @ellieaylen337

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

If we're reducing food waste here, can we also explore reducing plastic waste? I saw Jamie fiddling with the cling film, and throwing away the bit that messed up, and thought he could have just clamped a plate on top or got some of those washable silicone lids. It's about time we did away with the unnecessary single use plastic.

  42. @firstname4337

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Jamie's was the only food I would order at a restaurant — it was the only food i would eat

  43. @LobsterEmbodiment

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

You can laugh at the massive amount of food Jamie makes all you want but you can't deny that the man makes some tasty looking and sounding food.
Also just listening to the food descriptions kinda makes me go "This is exactly the sort of thing someone with young kids would make for them. Exciting taste but also decently healthy."
Idk. I think a lot of flak Jamie gets for his "masses of food that are flavor bombs" makes a lot of sense when you think of his work in the context of a dad wanting his kids and himself to enjoy the same food. To me at least, that explains a lot.

  44. @Orochimarussy

    December 30, 2023 at 6:52 am

Good lord was it not in budget to get Jamie a bra?
