Clear win for Mike. Easily the one I most want to eat!

i wonder if it was the peanut butter that ruined barry's

Jamie is one of those student when leaving an exam says “oh lads I failed that exam” but ends up getting an “A”

Am8 alone in wanting them to try revisiting this again?? Lol

Use a funnel! Don't use a piping bag & make plastic waste! If you need a use to help you transfer from a bigger dish to a small one, use a funnel! That's what it's for!

i kinda wanna see the guys re-visit stuff like this. Maybe even try to make old pass it on end results, only make them actually better, only theme per person.

I love a molten lava cake but I never realised how difficult they actually were to prepare and make. The components need to be prepared with precision to be able to have a liquid centre be held inside until cut into but more importantly how accurate and precise the cooking process is. If it’s undercooked, the filling doesn’t ooze, if it’s overcooked the cake becomes dry and tacky so the window for the perfect cake is so small and requires lots of practice and instinct

I mean if there’s anything that can be taken away from this video is that the visual improvement the guys have made from their previous attempt is evident! They’ve all come on leaps and bounds since the channel started and are getting to the point where they are closer to the chefs rather than being incomparable in capability

    Redemption for Jamie! 👍

The hope lacing Mike’s question that he perhaps hadn’t come in last, so sweet. I woulda given him second place.

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

    I wish we could know how/why Mike's didn't work!

  15. @matthewchase6744

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I believe if you look up what a lava cake is by definition none of these are. These are just cakes with fillings but maybe other countries use term differently. Making lava cakes are wild cuss it's like a baked pudding that gets a cake like shell you break open to eat. Not raw just soft on the inside

  16. @PJxpanterx

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Fondant is scary to make even for chefs

  17. @SheepdogSmokey

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Meanwhile, I can't even create the simple cake without the lava.

Barry did a Jamie from last time
So for that its got to be
    1st Jamie
    2nd Mike
    3rd Barry
    this time round

  19. @patmaurer8541

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I like the do-overs. Because it's so gratifying to master something that frustrated you before. Plus, it helps to see what revisions work, and that mistakes aren't so devastating as they might seem at the time 😉

  20. @Xerdoz

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

09:45 You can see those blobs just sinking. What was he thinking? If you put denser stuff into something less dense, the denser stuff is going to sink.

I would like the lemon curd recipe please.

  22. @Kiasis

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

So, do we have 2nd re-attempt?

  23. @TwinMamaCrafts

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I would love a working version of Mike's recipe. That one sounded the most appealing to me.

  24. @Dexy83

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I went back to the first video before watching this. I so much more prefer thia calmer version. Watching the old one stressed me outb4 years later!

    Well done Jamie 👊🏻.

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I rewatch these all the time. i to this day am still mad at Ben for helping Barry about the molds going in the fridge. ben needs to keep his mouth shut when mistakes are going to be made otherwise how can we judge the skills?

  27. @twinkle7389

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I like how in the original video the guys made fun of Jamie but failed in this one 🤣 you go Jamie!

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I’ll say, homemade marshmallows are not just better, but infinitely so. But I will still never make them again because they are SUCH a pain in the ass

  29. @lidort

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I still find this episode so interesting because it almost could be scripted because Mike and Baz suffered what happened to Jamie the previous attempt at Lava Cake.

  30. @shannonsmith4174

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

everyone always does a chocolate one why can't they do different flavours like mike did experiment it's not a cooking channel if you don't push yourself and stop using easy flavours like chocolate..

  31. @shannonsmith4174

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

wasn't it the blow torch that made it gooey in the middle didn't deserve to win..

  32. @justinbouchard

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Adding corn starch to the yolks when making curd makes it very very very difficult to make scrambled eggs out of it.

  33. @christopheralthouse6378

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

YOU DID IT JAMIE!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 😅😂😁👍

  34. @Sjivje

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

So happy for Jamie! He really showed that being precise and performing with diligence really can make a huge difference. Amazing work! Well done!!!

  35. @StaringAtSidewalks

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

I wonder if Mike coated his filling in flour it wouldn't have sank during baking

  36. @georgiegan

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Mike did too much when he pushed the yuzu in, then it sank during cooking and ended up leaking out the top.

Should have just left it, it will naturally sink down a little from the top, ending up in the middle.

  37. @mary-ruthflores4107

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Ben is so nice!! He had a nice thing to say about each of them along with constructive comments

  38. @LadyTarasque

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

re-attempt the re-attempt 😛 Too bad Mike's didn't turn out.. it's different, sounds refreshing compared to the more typical chocolate ones o-o and how the tables have turned..

  39. @violettaortega7124

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Why don't the boys go all together anymore? It's so much more chaotic 😂

Cut it.. shut up. Being a petulant child who is trying to cover that their recipe was under baked ( a little very good attempt though) by freaking out and yelling is not the way.

  45. @Gradd123

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Jamie's Microwaving… in the microwave. Who would have thought?

  46. @DeltaDemon1

    December 30, 2023 at 5:51 am

Isn't double checking it five times really deca checking it? Or is that hepta Checking it?

When did y’all switch to having one person in the kitchen for these comps? Unless that’s just a result of COVID?

  48. @Misshowzat

Aww thoughts and prayers for Mike but Jamie, COME ON! Awesome job mate.
