Does someone still have the recipes plsss? As I came back to the video to do the pretzel brownies but can’t find the recipe anymore 😢

Brownies are a very simple food and the ultimate brownie is pretty much universally agreed already. The ultimate brownie needs three absolutely pivotal characteristics:
•It must have a rich chocolate flavour
•It must have a crispy outer edge
•The most important part of the ultimate brownie is the soft, moist and gooey middle bit.
The chocolate has to be a quality chocolate because it’s the only flavour in the food, the two textures play different roles but they are both as important as each other! The crispy edge gives it structure and the gooey centre melts in the mouth, so this battle was really only won by Jamie who kept it simple, no need for fancy flavourings like salted caramel and using white chocolate doesn’t make a rich brownie!

hahahaha 02:34 the niiiiice camera girl giving the other camera guy the side eye for filming her (as he so often seems to do on purpose)

so I take it no one owns a rubber spatula to scrape your pots and bowls out as you’re trying to pour into your pans?

A great pro tip: if using butter and egg, don’t whisk it that much. You want as little air as possible. Also, tap the pan after filling on the counter 10 times to get the air bubbles out.

I'm shocked Jamie's ultimate brownies don't have some kind of alcohol and bacon grease as ingredients.

Barry your's is a blondie not a brownie but great blondie recipe.

Mike, good conversation, but it's different to a normal brownie because of the base.

Jamie, excellent brownie batter, great filling, and gooey texture. So in my opinion your the winner of this competition. Well done 👍

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

"My only criticism: I'm not sure you could eat an entire portion of that. That is so rich."
That just means he made more portions in the same time, I see no issue with that.

  14. @marthawilson444

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

I want Mike's although making a base makes it harder a bit. The beauty of brownies is mix it, dump it, bake it, eat it.

So if they do a ultimate blondie battle will Barry make a brownie?

  20. @payneeavis7366

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

Here is a thought, put Mike’s on the bottom, Baz in the middle and Jamie’s on top to form a sandwich and all bases covered for the ultimate brownie.

I won a brownie battle at work a few years ago. What put me over the top was a whole mess of salted and lightly sweetened peanut butter swirled into the pan. They were unbelievably sticky and delicious.

  33. @hopeayiasoumi27

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

The first time I had a blondie, my brother had taken this recipe and made it as a layer in my 18th birthday cake 2 years ago. Today was the first time he had baked since then (with the end result turning out good) and he made the blondie again, when I tried it, it took me back to a time when I was preparing for entering university and enjoying everyone’s presents at the party. It made me feel nostalgic and like there is hope again

  34. @iHateHandlesGetRidOfThis

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

    "That's a blondie, that's a brownie, that's something different."

I think we know who won the brownie contest.

  35. @scottrhodes8160

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

So I finally got a chance to try some of these 'concept' brownies-I have only made one and that was Jamie's 'Gooey' brownie. As you did not post the full recipe I needed to juggle some ingredients. I have to say they came out decadently delicious-some of my friends said serving them with some vanilla ice cream cut the richness-don't ask me how-and made them even better-don't ask me how on that one either. I am going to try Mike's version next-I like the idea of salty pretzels and sweet chocolate. Thanks for the ideas you guys are a wealth of cooking inspiration.

  36. @hannuala-olla4302

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

I quite like the idea of a base on brownies.

  37. @omesomegon6708

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

Okay, I know it's been years, but if your recipe calls for both salted butter and normal butter, it is probably not ideal to not mention (in both the recipe and the video) at all which butter is used when. Has put quite a sudden stop to me trying to make Mike's brownies.

  38. @benthepenguin7435

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

the music is so loud and overton ben when he talks… and everyone else

  39. @carolynmurtaza1180

Sorry guys but the music at the end was too loud to really hear what Ben was saying

    December 29, 2023 at 2:07 am

    Barry is the winner
