India train crash: More than 260 dead after Odisha collision – BBC News
At least 261 people have been killed and 1,000 injured in a crash involving three trains in India’s eastern Odisha state, officials have said.
One passenger train derailed on to the adjacent track and was struck by an incoming train on Friday, also hitting a nearby stationary freight train.
A massive rescue operation was launched, with hundreds of emergency services searching the wreckage.
It is India’s worst train crash this century and the cause is not yet clear.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News
The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News
President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News
The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iranโs ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iranโs ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

|ndia should get a Guinness World record for train collisions involving 3 to 4 trains (Odisha June 2023). No other country, I repeat, no other country has ever accomplished such a feat. Train collisions involving 1 or 2 trains is understandable but if 3 or 4 more trains were involved, that takes serious engineering skills. The |ndian death trap railway. |f anybody is interested in counting how many trains were involved in the Odisha train crash June 2023, here is the video of the crash site โก Odisha Train Tragedy: Aerial View Captures Devastation In Bahanaga. Although it has an edge ahead of China in terms of population and potential labor demand, India's biggest drawback is that it is not distributed or built in a division of labor across industries, and there is no borderless movement system that transcends land, air, sea, and border, such as ports, railways, and transportation necessary for transportation such as departure or entry.
China has been dominated by manufacturing worldwide since the Nixon administration's Pingpong diplomacy and diplomatic relations with China in the 1970s, to the extent that China has air and port infrastructure, including Hong Kong and Macao, Shanghai and northern China.
This was possible because the basic infrastructure was built. But there's no India. It's not there at all. Even if we try to build infrastructure, we wonder if we have astronomical finances. There are countless different ideologies and values, and even though it's been a long time since the caste system was abolished, there's still a caste culture.
On the surface, even though there are many labor demands and age groups such as population, the so-called purchasing power level for payment is very low. It's very different from China.
In the case of India, the local government or the central government has no division of administrative work, and it is so poor that it cannot even confirm whether certain citizens exist, and the corruption and incompetence of the central and local governments coexist to build infrastructure, and it is questionable whether the central and local Indian people will actively cooperate and operate transparently.
Many advanced countries with a presence are well-managed by their citizens, inquiring about crime details, such as minors and adults, or having data such as juvenile detention, prison imprisonment, fines, or probation, but most of the developing countries, such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, are unable to confirm whether the person is a criminal or not.
On the contrary, not only India but also all developing and poorest countries often overlook whether they are criminals or involved in crimes that undermine or threaten the order of their allies, including Western countries, such as sex offenders, human trafficking, arms trafficking, drug trafficking and terrorist crimes.
For humans, the basic assessment and standard is that higher education or professional skills are completely the latter, and the most basic is whether they have experience in crime, civil or criminal punishment.
In a country with presence or common sense, it is fundamental to evaluating a person, and I wonder whether we can trust a country called India, which produces a dissident and international sex offender or sits on the sidelines.
If you say you are not a rapist, sex offender, or a criminal or family member, you will believe me if you cut the articles of association with a knife and swallow them in your mouth without hesitation.

To me, this is like the U.S. gun crimes, it's not act of god and is preventable, as long as the Indian government invest money into their rail networks, until then, this sort of accident will carry on happening.
