As a student of pharmacology I can tell you that ALL psychotropics WILL cause dependence eventually (and some will cause addiction). Not may, not might, not could. They WILL make you dependent if you take them long enough. How long is "long enough" to cause dependence varies from person to person.

I’m going through this withdrawal hell as well for 3 weeks now and I’ve never had so many side effects on anything in my life.

I’ve only been on this medication for 3 months and since I stopped I feel like I’m high on mushrooms. I have the worst stomach pains I’ve ever experienced. I fainted twice. I can’t sleep ! I can’t work!
I wake up hoping I’ll feel better every day but my it’s worst. My head hurts. I have zits everywhere. I sweat like crazy. I get hot and cold. This medication is soooo addictive I don’t understand how it can be legal. I feel like someone take my brain!!!!
😅😅Anyone wants to gang up to sue this Pfizer company? The withdrawals are way worst than what was written on the box. I’m very angry that I wasn’t warned about this by my doctor. This drug is just like heroine addiction. I’m so sick I can’t even work. I’m furious and I want to do something about it. I’m scared for others. I’m scared for myself.

    :(((

It kills your sex drive and ruins your marriage – without proper warning, discussion or anything. You wonder why your relationship is vacant and dead – because SSRI's tank your drive and numb you out – so you assume your relationship is in trouble, but the reality, the SSRI is quietly killing it.

Everyone is different but I do believe your body builds a tolerance to these meds. Personally I started on paroxetine years ago for anxiety and panic attacks and the first 4 weeks were horrible (not that I remember much) and finally weaned off them last year. My anxiety and panic attacks came back and I really tried to stay off the meds, now I’m on sertraline but I would like to get off them too because I have found other natural ways to cope with my anxiety – I also think I have developed a tolerance to SSRI’s and REFUSE to increase the dose. I’m currently on 50mg sertraline, I’ve not had an issue but I think these side effects are very rare and possibly are more likely on higher doses

Woman are most often put on these after taking hormonal birth control, and that's pure poison. so they give another poison to help counter the effects of the first poison. both are life destroyers. No man should even think of hooking up with these woman that are bc and ssri's if you do you are in for a nightmare.

Because when we are given medicine to 'be happy' but the root of our sadness is never dealt with it only masks the depression and others feel the happiness is 'fake' so what Ive seen with myself taking medication the real issues ended up being neglected and avoided. The mind cant lice seperately from the heart and body trauma. They need to be united to find true peace which is what creates true happiness…it is a sense of peace in your body, mind and heart.

I took fluoxetine for nine months after sudden unexpected romantic break up, job and parental loss. I was also born with spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy, and have used a wheelchair since I was nine years old. The medicine helped me and brought me relief for approximately one week. After that, things got worse and have been that way ever since – even after I stopped taking the medicine. While I was on the medicine, I had seizures, my tight muscles would become even tighter And my anxiety and depression became much much worse. Although I am no longer dealing with the seizures, I’ve been dealing with terrible, terrible anxiety and suicidal thoughts that have slowly increased overtime. But I recently found this subconscious mind clearing meditation. That seems to be helping me a lot. I’ve been listening to it since 1 November And my feelings of anxiety and depression have decreased such that I feel much more comfortable now. I was in agony before – wanting or maybe even needing to take my life every single day constantly. That’s no way for anyone to live. For me, SSRI’s were complete poison. I also developed digestive problems that I’m still dealing with too.

Has anyone here started struggling with an overactive bladder as a result of taking anti-depressants?

I took sertraline for two months each in 2020 and 2021. If I can remember correctly my urinary frequency increased.

In February 2022, I took Tretol (another brand for sertraline) for only two days and it wreaked havoc on my body. I didn't get an overactive bladder immediately but I got other side effects like clenched jaws, drowsiness, weird stool issues etc.

I stopped taking the medicine immediatelty but about 10 days later I had my first urinary urgency which led to leaking myself. I've suffered with a relatively overactive bladder and latchkey (bathroom door) incontinence since then and I'm struggling to find a cause other than the antidepressant. But I've been told that two days is too small a time to cause such a massive change.

All bodies are different. You can die from an over the counter painkiller if it’s reacts badly with you. Don’t stigmatise the use of antidepressants. Depression is a serious issue and medication can significantly improve the life of people for whom even stepping out of bed is a herculean task.

Not all meds are for everyone, and antidepressants do take time to adjust in your body. Trust your doctor and if you can’t, find one you can trust.

It’s not to deter people from seeking help, you should take care and seek help, you’re not alone… but don’t trust companies. Imagine the most advanced computer in the world, a Quantum Computer… do you think they’d ever let any company run a program on it that MIGHT cause property damage to their billion dollar investment? Not at all… your mind is far more advanced than any computer on the planet, treat it carefully

Never take those meds. I’ve been dealing with severe depression and other mental illnesses for many years. A doc prescribed me SSRIs. Ever since I took them for several months I started to feel more sad and angry at little things and started to hallucinate seeing things that aren’t supposed to be seen like seeing shadow people crawling on the road and in my room at night. I’m still seeing them now and no medicine can help me get rid of that. Sometimes those things tried talking to me but I usually ignored them. I almost hit someone on the street with my car because I was drowsy because of the effect of those meds. I will have severe headache and dizziness and shaking if I stop taking them for 2 days. Doc told me to reduce the dose but it still doesn’t work. My big problem with it is hallucination, drowsiness and getting angry and sad easily. I regret taking them.

The big pharma cartel only wants your money and doesnt actually care about your health we all go through hardship and difficulty time to time it does not mean you need anti depressants you may have some social anxiety and there is some very amazing aways to help it but what we want is instant relief we do not want to go through the struggle, being patient etc so do not believe their lies there is no such thing as depression, depression in other words is dispair, dispairing whatever you're going through will not get better falling into dispair doesn't help be patient upon the difficulties of life and don't rush to the drugs the pharma cartel want to sell to you even though you're actually fine in your health. As for genuine mental health issues, like anxiety, low self esteem theres amazing ways to improve them, eat good whole food, more meats and organs take non gmo vitamins, do intermittent fasting, do cold showers, do intense training, prioritise tasks in your day to day lives and you'll see your symptoms improve. Likewise you must know, anxiety, sadness are human emotions, there are some days except you'll have it, whether the rich or poor we share it we all have our own challenges but always remind yourself this moment will not last, the difficulty and be patient

aarr no we now know the benefits do not outweigh the risks you only have to look at just one aspect of the harm these drugs do and that is the considerable increase in unnecessary birth defects that have been happening since these drugs where introduced the sooner anti-depressants are abolished the better.

The worst side effect I’ve experienced is sexually not being able to finish. It may sound trivial but you try it. It took 8 weeks for the ssri to benefit anxiety as far as depression I can’t say it’s improved that to much but think of this…a medication is not going to clean up your messed up life or fix all the bad decisions you’ve made. You need to find meaning in ur life, life is not about what makes YOU happy, to find peace find meaning by adopting responsibilities. By taking on responsibilities and making a commitment to only say what’s true regardless of consequences you will find a better way to live than the selfish pursuit of your own happiness. Happiness is momentary, you can’t be happy all the time, it’s not possible and chasing that will only lead to depression and narcissism. For encouragement I highly recommend listening to Jordan Peterson

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

New explosions near Iranian port cities, says state media | BBC News

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.

It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.

The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.

Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
