China to allow three-child families as birth rate declines sharply – BBC News
The authorities in China have announced that couples will be allowed to have up to three children, raising the limit from two.
It follows census figures showing a steep decline in the birth rate.
Five years ago, the Chinese Communist Party finally abandoned its one child policy, which had begun in 1976. At the time there were fears of uncontrolled population growth.

Gloria Steinem, who became a face of the women’s liberation movement in the US, has died, aged 92.
In a post on Instagram, her foundation said she “passed away peacefully” at her home in New York City on Wednesday, “surrounded by many who loved her”.
Steinem, who was a writer and magazine editor, co-founded the Women’s Action Alliance – a group dedicated to fighting sexism – more than 50 years ago.

Iran and the United States have carried out on the biggest exchange of attacks since July, stoking fears of a return to all out war.
Iran said 18 people were killed and more than 100 injured in latest US bombardment. It accused the US of committing a war crime by striking a wedding in the city of Kuhestak, killing four people including two children. The Pentagon responded by saying it does not target civilians.
In retaliation, Iran launched a wave of strikes against American targets in the region, including in Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Bahrain.
President Trump is warning that the US is prepared to carry out further strikes in response to those attacks.
There are warnings of a serious impact on the global economy, with further disruption to oil and gas supplies, affecting inflation and global borrowing costs.

Why would anyone want to have kids in a country of hopelessness like China, horrible control, human rights abuses and terrible 9,9,7 work practices. No one should have kids in China and bring any child into that horrible ccp led disaster!!

China needs to stop trying to control their population. Just let it ride. If they focus on fixing unemployment of 17 to 30 year olds and homelessness of the elderly. More people would be in a better financial position and mental state to have children. Families would be able to take in their elderly parents who can double as baby sitters and help young couples with house work. Less stress and burden means better mood, more sex and more babies.

They aren't having kids because they can't afford it, everyone knows this. China averages 30 million abortions a year. That and it has to import a third of its food. Drop in Uygher birthrates, yeah, well they take away the mother or father once they have two or three children, that's not hidden either.

When they say they can't afford it, means they don't have enough money to let the children learn piano, violin, swimming, ballet, second language, advanced maths… ( and yes, that’s for one child) all need private tutors. The truth is Chinese have super high hope for their children , they can’t accept their children to be ordinary… to be honest, not many families can afford so many tutors for their children in any countries, so they choose have more children with no tutors, but Chinese choose have less children and tutors…

Clearly the people setting the one child policy had no idea about how population growth works. The policy favored couples having male offspring, and so millions of women were never born, leading to a surplus of men in the millions who will be unable to find spouses of the opposite sex.

I love how they say "allowed" lol.. Anyone could have 3-4-5 kids in china, prior to this.
They just had to pay a fee, to disinsentivize more than 2 kids.
Nowhere was it "forbidden" to have more than 2 kids.
But hey, they always wanna use every tiny way they can to make China seem like a prison.
