the government printing money in 2008 and during covid is what has crippled our economy. I believe about 450.000.000.000 was printed during covid, that's about £12,000 per man, woman and child in this country. I worked during covid, and I don't ever recall having an extra £12,000 in my bank account, or my partners, or my sons. We need to ask the question where did all that money go?

I don't under stand what the problem is. Simple solutions, dump Net Zero and all green subsidies, start fracking, deport all illegals (not just the channel chancers, but ALL). Jail time for Directors of any company found to be employing illegals. Make MPs pay the same bills we do (no expenses for anything other than travel).

Bring back basic common sense and live within your means, listen to older people with life experience, and DO instead of TALK.

As a never-again Tory voter, I believe Sunak should make a start by admitting he's a brazen opportunist; an American resident permit holder with a house in California who just happens to live in Britain some of the time to see what he can get out of it. Someone who's billionaire wife has non dom status and thus avoids paying tax. A man who has already crashed the economy by splashing £400 billion of borrowed money on furlough. He could follow up by being honest about 'foreign aid', immigration and why we are sending £millions to Ukraine. He won't do any of these things because he was anointed by a handful of undemocratic fellow globalists who have zero interest in Britain nor the majority of people who live here.

Not sure how that lady thinks a degree in English, and then doing a masters in journalism contributes loads to society. Many other skills which don't involve studying at university are far more valuable, my dear. Passing a few exams is way too overrated, lol.

Rishi Sunak was apparently one of the people that lit the touch paper or the 2008 crash.

know reducing taxation like VAT could be a huge boost to the economy by making value of goods be the same for producers and sellers but the government has to take in faith that because the VAT has been lowered or abolished buisnesses will start thriving.

20% is a LOT to add ontop of goods in general it's a limiting factor in growth but it only effects high street retail not Amazon who i assume get tax breaks for staff numbers.

see VAT is not a essential tax NO tax is essential, all it does is allow a parasite system to maintain power though wealth control.

In order to encorage spending the cost of goods needs to feel affordable and not look expensive like 20p on a bar of chocolate is a lot but i understand we're in a trade war so why are we not discovering new products and culture ? because the finance limits it.

4:50 ATOMIC energy both Fission and Fusion None of the green BS that only works on a very low level, we need vast amounts of energy and it needs to be enough for the demands all the ban on fuel is doing is crashing the nation to a weakened state where if we have an invasion it's game over.

the economy needs to work as a process, goods for services not goods and services for money then money to the tax man and then the crumbs to the overheads and workers. like there is NO insentive to work for the government if the government gives NOTHING back.

Zia Yusuf delivers a scathing critique of both the Conservative Labour parties, accusing them of failing the British public on immigration and foreign aid. In this explosive segment, the Reform UK Home Affairs spokesperson claims the country has experienced “the biggest wave of untrammelled mass immigration ever seen,” placing the blame squarely on successive governments.

Yusuf outlines why Reform UK is launching a new inquiry into what he calls the “Boriswave,” arguing that border policies under recent leadership have left the UK exposed. He raises concerns about public safety, national priorities, and whether the current system is truly serving the interests of the British people.

In this week’s Chopper’s Political Podcast, Christopher Hope is joined by Tom Harwood and Katherine Forster to examine the growing debate around the UK state pension and the “triple lock.”

With Reform UK now joining other major parties in backing the policy, the discussion explores why the triple lock remains politically untouchable, despite rising concerns over its long-term cost. The panel breaks down how the system works, why it was introduced, and how it has helped reduce pensioner poverty, while also raising questions about fairness between generations.

They also look at the mounting financial pressures facing the UK, including the rising cost of pensions, slow economic growth, and an ageing population. Could the triple lock become unsustainable in the future? And if so, what alternatives might be considered?
