If Matt Hancock is right, then Dominic Cummings is the guilty one. And is simply covering himself. Him being to blame.
OR…Matt Hancock is guilty as our observations indicate and it seems we need a more authoritarian questioner.
This questioning was too passive for such a British constitutional accusation.
This was like a friend asking a friend awkward questions.
We need a complete and firm investigation.

"… my job is to protect lives…" says the man who, under his watch, it was OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE to move elderly patients back in to care homes despite not having a negative COVID test. Tens of thousands of early deaths can be attributed to this one thing alone.
Edited to add: The Government claims that it needed to act quickly, yet what evidence do we have that they acted quickly? We have ample evidence that the government acted without appropriate scrutiny, however.

In the end, I want to the truth to win out as ultimately: that is what is most important here. That being said, the very human part of me sees this being turned into a matter of Cummings vs. Hancock in much of the media and if those are the stakes, I feel like whichever of them wins we all lose as a result…

The lord's needs amending until that's happend they shouldn't even sit . Unelected life peers,( if you can't be sacked no incentive to be good ) , with some party grossly over represented which is fine if they were elected that don't represent the masses . Maybe an elected house of lords with half up for re election every general election

Some of the questions put to Matt Hancock were unnecessary and out of context. This shows me this enquiry is only to show that there is or has been an enquiry and not to actually follow through with any allegations, particularly allegations which involves herd emunity. It's ticking the box so the public believe there is actual repricussions for foolish decisions that led to the deaths of many vulnerable people.

"Anyone that needed treatment got what they required." According to the bing covid tab, UK has/had 4,558,484 cases 127,896 deaths and my Home state of Florida known for our amazing healthcare system 2,329,897 cases 37,2365 deaths looks like to me like the good man said "No". As we albeit a much smaller population had a third fewer deaths what is up with that?

I thought you were impartial, by saying the government made decision that ultimately saved live, is not impartial, the scrutiny may have saved more lives. Please be balanced when claiming to be, the other effect of no scrutiny is a dictorial government, oh we had that, but you failed to mention it in this piece. Why?

If his job was to "Protect lives and get us out of the pandemic" then he's one of the biggest failures in British politics. He's done nothing of the sort – He's made mistake after mistake, told lie after lie and now he wants us to be thankful. He's in over his head, but ignorance is bliss I suppose.

"would parlimentary scrutiny have resulted in better coronavirus legislation or just slowed it down when making decisions that ultimately saved lives"- I know you're trying to be unbiased, but how could you guys not crack up at this question? the legislation we got allowed ministers to ignore british firms dying to sell their ppe, instead making profit handing out contracts to their mates for make believe firms and equipment, and the governments response to literally everything last year was either too slow, or u-turned on.
This government will do absolutely anything to avoid scrutiny because they're robbing the taxpayer blind.

My take on covid is that NO PARTY could have done a good job! Some deaths were unavoidable and whoever was in power would get slated; it is a lose-lose situation.
