I poach eggs in the microwave all the time. I don't pierce the yolk and I've never had one explode!

We microwaved Royal icing once (well, my brother did) because we had some. He said it really puffed up.

    Mic-ro-wa-ve ? It's a shame that the Brits can't speak proper English.

Love the “make it in a jar” tip. I used to use and aerator for my wine but realized at some pint that after the first glass was out of the bottle (and swirled in the glass) I could just put the cork (or screw top) back on the bottle and shake it and it would be aerated and ready to serve. I didn’t need my fancy expensive aerator. So I love this Shake it – Don’t waste it – tip

Restricting the guys to only having access to basic equipment tests them. They have to develop a recipe that is possible using those appliances, try and find unique applications of their assigned appliances to achieve their desired dish and adapt their cooking techniques to complement the capabilities of the toaster, microwave and kettle.

Pro microwave tip: sit things slightly off center, that way the thing you're cooking will move between hot and cold spots more often, giving you a more even cook

I love it, I have salmon in the fridge, I want to try that now!

Oh… fantastic, except no one will ever use that kettle again if Jamie’s poached fish in it! Lmao!

Mike's idea of using the crumb tray was brilliant. I need to try that with nuts
You could tell Jamie had no clue why you pop the yolk of an egg before putting it in the microwave. He obviously read or heard it on the internet but had no clue why. LoL Ben was correct, it's to keep the yolk from exploding.
And, Jamie is also a really sore loser! Waaaaaahhhh

Have they done a show on how to use a knife? Because the squash man really needs some help.

Spear whatever it is that you want to peel with a fork, then go to work with your peeler. Works great. Make sure to keep the thing being peeled in contact with your chopping board so that it does not get knocked off.

A while back Ebbers said that a micro does not really control the power that it merely cycles on and off at full power. That was true 20 years ago, but we have inverter tech now. Inverter micros actually control the intensity of the power. With an inverter you can properly: defrost, warm and you can even soften butter. Chefs hate micros so much that they don't even bother to keep up with the tech.

Remember when badges were a thing? Until they just got absolutely stealth killed

  21. @A2Zcollectibles

Basic math badge doesn’t go to Jamie…4 people there ,Ben and Barry agree he has the best dish .Mike and Jamie don’t.So 50/50 split but he said majority doesn’t agree.

This is the kind of constraint that wouldn't make a lot of sense for most, but gives a wonderful kick of creativity and makes for good content. Most of your vids are good, this one is great. Can we have a part 2 (and 3), please?

you NEVER want to microwave a raw egg. no matter how mixed or broken yoked
