Without any prejudice against Liverpool ,I must observe the precedents of large scale rioting (toxteth ) and corruption (Derek Hatton)within my lifetime ,followed presumably by massive funding ,both to make up deficiencies and to pay-off hurt manufactured grievances ..I read only recently that a building boom was in spate there..how come? Are firms /businesses rushing to invest in a failing enterprise? .for all the broth-of-a-boyoh charm any wit..it seems prey to the tendencies

I wish the Tories would take over my city of liverpool, Labour have forgotten who started the Labour party and why it was started. They as the last election shown took for granted the working class vote , to which certainly was the wrong thing to have done. They don't care about the indigenous of our city and just want the minorities vote ,as for equality , that's a joke also, the vast amount of homeless people , who are begging and dying on our streets are white males, fact , but they want to fund and house the homeless from other countries, disgraceful. Then there's the Labour party who tried to stop a democratic vote from being honoured in the referendum.Even that , why was Hatton allowed anywhere near the Liverpool council buildings after what this twice barred from Labour party person has been apart of in the past regarding council property, yet alone have dealings with his cycle firm. And even all this woke and pc rubbish they preach is just causing more trouble than all these Labour fakes are worth.

Torys should be banned and over past few years labour hasnt been the oppersition for the Torys they fucking back everything they say. There soul job is to argue and counter the Torys all they do is agree with them. Tory back bench does a better job then labour at countering them

I feel like when a particular party gets too comfortable in power, they get fat, corrupted and weak. This seems to be happening with Labour all across the North, and a lot of the old heads don't wish to admit it. Sounds like this is a very necessary intervention that could do the Left a lot of good in the long term. Some toes will be stepped on but they should broadly be toes that needed stepping on.

I think Labour aren't really in any position to fight against the review and actions being taken as mentioned in the video its been under Labour rule since 2010 so if anything its almost embarrassing that the Tories have to step in to fix labours problems.

Deleting comments you don't like eh? How very honest:
Your recent video regarding The report of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities is absurdly biased and inaccurate, it is dripping with left wing bias and amounts to this is vaguely what some parts of this report kind of say, whilst omitting all details and nuance, thus misrepresenting what it actually says and in one political direction, and you then follow each misrepresentation up with here is what the left and the far-left have to say about it.
Here is the pay gap between all white people vs all ethnic minorities, can’t have people seeing that many ethnic minorities vastly out-perform whites, better focus on this picture that misrepresents it as though minorities are getting a raw deal.
Here is the black African unemployment rate, better not break that down to show how some black African groups have fractional unemployment but others have huge unemployment, best lump them together and push the implication that being black means getting a raw deal.
Here is the black African job types, better not break that down to show how some black African groups have disproportionately high paid secure jobs but others have disproportionately low paid insecure jobs, best lump them together and push the implication that being black means getting a raw deal.
Here is the black African imprisonment rate, better not break that down to show how some black African groups have almost no criminal issues but others have huge consistent crime rates leading to massive amounts of imprisonment, best lump them together and push the implication that being black means getting a raw deal.
You manage to stumble on something approaching accuracy with regards to education but you quickly pick yourself up and move on.
So you misrepresent almost everything exclusively in one political direction and back that up with quotes from left wing and far-left activists, organisations, media outlets, MP's and institutions….
I had thought a lot better of TLDR News, are you under new management?

Robert Jenrick gives millions in funds to areas of the UK with little deprivation to benefit politically, but has the gall to attempt a Liverpool takeover?
Anderson is probably corrupt, a lot of people in Liverpool apparently don't like him, even Labour supporters. That doesn't mean we just turn a blind eye to corruption elsewhere. Particularly at national level, where billions are being funnelled.

WRT educational achievement, this is a cultural difference. With the exception of the Caribbean community, education is more highly valued in the immigrant communities than in the white communities. It is seen as the route to a better life. The Caribbean community have deep routed family issues which profoundly negatively affect educational outcomes. Since this report was commissioned by No. 10, it's hardly surprising that it pretends all is well.

it's ironic really Kinnock booted Derek Hatton out for corruption on Liverpool City council in the 80's and that Bellend Anderson strikes up dodgy deals with Derek Hatton and engages in nepotism to get his useless layabout son a cushy job. Lefties-Never-Learn

This is because:
1 – national media pays little attention to local government. There isnt enough scrutiny and most citizens dont have the faintest idea what their council are up to.
2 – Liverpool is guaranteed to overwhelmingly vote Labour every time. They've been in power there too long.

Sorry but "they're the opposition" is a flatly idiotic response to any sort of policy. Tribalist politics is for people who don't want to think. "You're Labour and they're Conservatives so you should automatically oppose anything and everything they do on the grounds that they're not your party" is not an argument worthy of consideration, nor does it help anything.
If the best argument you have is 'but we're one side of the political spectrum and they're the other' then you shouldn't even bother opening your mouth. Have a utilty-based response or shut up.

The comments by Unite's Howard Beckett are significant. Unite has recently come under scrutiny for the enormous cost of its new HQ, initially intended to cost. £5m and coming in at £95m. One of the firms named in the Liverpool investigation was the contractor. So it's not just Liverpool getting poor value for money! Beckett wants to be next General Secretary of Unite. He's been involved at a high level in all Unite's activities for some time.

Labour Croydon has gone bankrupt. Labour unfortunately attracts too many activist types into local govt that have little experience of running professional organisations. I think the Tories are genuinely better at running local govt. They tend to attract professional, managerial types as local councillors.
