In the US well here in Texas at least the people here see Boris Johnson as a visionary and great leader on par with Churchill. I find it as a shock to see yall hate him so much. Definitely gotta get out more lol

  20. @SamButler22

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

I would rather he sticks around til the next GE. Whoever fills his role, the Tories will continue to be awful. So if he is electoral poison, let him tank the party please.

  22. @lexslate2476

Boris seems unlikely to resign. To get rid of him, he will need to be ejected from office with such force that he'll leave a worthless rich jackass silhouette-shaped hole in the window he is thrown out of.

If labor gust try to stop Boris Johnson on getting our country back 🇬🇧 then do you think that the people will Vote for labor I think not they have finished God bless England 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

  24. @yetanotherbassdude

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

Boris is still in power purely because the Tory MPs have calculated that removing him will almost certainly mean the new leader would have to call an election sooner than the December 2024 deadline that Boris is under due to electoral law requirements. They know that the sooner they face an election, the more likely it is that they won't have turned things around enough to stay in power. This is probably going to prove incredibly short-sighted of them though, as Boris' decline in popularity seems terminal and he will likely be an albatross around the Tories neck at any election he leads them into, whenever that ends up being. Even if they kick him out in six months or a year from now, all they're doing is giving him more time to do more damage to the party's reputation, and giving the next Tory leader less time before they face the electorate. For anyone who wants a different party running the government, keeping Boris may prove to be good news in the long run, even if it means some very hard times ahead between now and then.

Not to side with those that voted for "meh empire" but I guess if you move the goal post far enough eventually you'll be right? You've been hammering on Clown-Hair for the longest time… It'll take a nuclear bomb at this point to get him out of number 10. Time will tell.

  30. @confuciuslola

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

I'm still perplexed by a secret rule book for the Tories, I mean what possible reason could a democracy have to be so opague and obtuse?
It's almost like these systems were made for the upper class to control the king and not to be accountable to the people.

  31. @lucyward4391

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

If Boris Johnson is Bad for the country why is anybody supporting him? There is a saying in Wisdom "who is more of a a fool, the fool or the fool that follows him" answer the fool that follows is the greater fool. So Boris Johnson is a fool how can he have any support unless his supporters are more foolish than him!

  34. @tsuchan

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

@tldr I think you're not ve'y right about the privileges committee:
First, it's the parliamentary privileges committee, so Johnson can rewrite the ministerial code as much as he likes… nothing to do with it.
Second, if the privileges committee recommend a suspension from Parliament of 10+ days, Johnson will be subject to a recall petition in his constituency and he may be voted out by his electorate. Good luck in remaining PM while not being an MP or even in the house of lords.

  35. @jasonshallcross2741

    December 22, 2023 at 6:51 pm

Those who have been found to have deliberately mislead the house, shouldn't be asked to resign – they should be jailed.
Diplomacy is one thing, but it's about time politicians started taking honesty a bit more seriously.

The british Perfidious Albion is Putins western front against Europe.
The brexiteers clearly followed the russian inspired brexit-idea, to shrink and weaken the western alliances. Later they reveal their Afghan Allies to support Putins imperialism. Their irrelevant support of the Ukrainian army is only meant to hide their responsibility for the Ukraine war.
