To long, didn't read, but the video is still 8 minutes long, so I could have read an article anyway. Nevertheless, this is a nice summary of events and context.

It's sad Boris had to go. I honestly had forgiven him and want him to continue his work. He is a war heros of covid, poverty and was still doing his beat to take us through the Ukraine crisis.🇿🇲🇿🇲

As an Aussie, my condolences to the British. Never has there been a more comical political figure than your Uncle Boris. Part man, part naughty school boy with a bucket load of cheap red plonk in his belly he gave us a non stop highlight reel of bumbling speeches and stunts all while looking like he'd just woken up from a 3 day bender. No wonder you guys voted him in

"358 MPs in government" is a misstatement. Parliament doesn't = the government. This not pedantic but important distinction, as the "government" is executive, which includes both house of commons and house of Lord members.

"Surprisingly frank speech" are you kidding? He didn't admit to any wrong doing and said the only reason he was kicked out was because of herd instinct and eccentricity, lying saying they are only a few points behind in the polls when in reality it's double digits

yet again we will get another new prime minister without them standing in a general election
1 thing the americans get right is that the president and vice president are elected as a pair providing an instant replacement after a resignation or assasination
in the uk EVERY time a PM resigns we get given an unelected leader.
imagine we ever have something like a PM gets assasinated which could require an instant response. politicians could spend months arguing over who was in charge rather than dealing with the situation.

  20. @CatManUtdFC

    December 22, 2023 at 5:49 pm

I find it hilarious that the conservatives use what is essentially STV for their leadership election because FPtP sucks. But then they campaigned against STV in the 2011 referendum because FPtP advantages them.

    December 22, 2023 at 5:49 pm

    Whats happens next?
-the replacement PM is anti russia
    -The sanctions backfired
    -The decay of the west
-Attack the bear preemptively (or Bear attack Lithuania whoever first)
-Fallout 5: Real Life Edition released for free.
