It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

Makes no difference what we do or want. It’s down to the 27 odd countries in the EU and what they want and you can guaranty their terms will be impossible for the right to swallow. It ain’t going to happen, at least not any time soon. The damage has already been done by Neanderthal man. I was a remainer but not a remoaner. So get used to it and start negotiating now. That means not throwing your dummy out of the pram in the 1st round doesn’t it Mr Cameron.

December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Voted remain but no we shouldn't rejoin. I think Starmer should do an agreement with the eu that would satisfy all remainers/leavers for the whole of the UK.

the danger of a fresh referendum is that the same old lies are rehashed and updated.. and the public fall for them again..

December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Yeah a Pole in Britain said we want to rejoin 😂😂😂😂😂
@SirMrDany
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
I am very sure the UK would be fine to join, but not with the same terms as they had before. They would have to embrace the euro for instance…
@justgeneric2876
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
I suspect people overestimate, the only reason it was so toxic was that’s how the politicians made it. A vote to rejoin will be accepted. The EU is keen to rejoin

Please don't go by what young think and want, they are young and for the MOST PART not well informed. Some even seem to think Brexit voters are racist, which as a sweeping statement on a primarily economic issue is ridiculous. Those in their 30's and 40's probably offer a better guide – still young but also a little wiser (mostly).

It did happen. It was the general election that voted Boris in. Remember? The Lib Dem’s promised if they won they’d take us straight back into the EU, ignoring the will of democracy. Guess who lost the most votes? You can keep saying this, but the UK will not willingly rejoin the EU.
@willieckaslike
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Why ? Unless Britain starts to realise it is no longer a world power with an Empire to pillage at will. Dumps it's feudal system of Governance, is prepared to eat humble pie and stop acting the "BIG I AM". There is NO WAY would England be accepted. The Reunion of Ireland would make membership of N.I. automatic, and an Independent Scotland would be welcomed. But, England in it's present state ? Forget it ! Just imagine, you are running a club, where one member proves to be troublesome from the day they join. Finally, after 30 years they decide to leave the club, (yet still expect the perks of membership), would you have them back ?

If we had a second referendom in a few years EU would proberly
Be superstate by then one central gov responsible for every thing
You do they would control your whole life. Can't see any sensible
Person wanting that then again how the young are being indoctrinated by lefty educators any thing could happen.
@johnwhitcher4761
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Why would we want to rejoin with many EU countries going into
Ression also it would cost many more billion that we used to
Pay, with no rebate mandatory EURO currancy. Only idiots would want to rejoin.

If those simple folk want people marching on the streets.
You need to accept we left and move on.
LEAVE MEANS LEAVE.
DONT INSULT THE BRITISH ELECTORATE.

December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
No we bloody dont we want a complete break from EU. I didn't trust germany before the war i didn't trust france during the war and italy was no better. You can say this is another era but pigs don't change there skin. I you would be better looking in the past to see a bunch of cheats who did the same when we last tide to them. A non elected bunch of crap i've never seen. Forcing us to take a share of so called immigrants.(illegals) making deals for our businesses to move into EU countries. So that there isn't enough work to go round especially with the illegals benefits etc would have to stop the NHS the same . The rich creaming off the profits like spain does with our electricity. That is just the start perhaps you would rather we fight for our country well perhaps it is near time skipper afew like minded idiots. Do not touch our country.
@staredsky
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
ahaha best joke of the week. Sure, you can do all the referendums you want, but this doesn't mean you will join again. Honestly… we do not miss you so much: you were always the one out of the European chorus, more aligned to the US than to the EU, so now you are totally free to flirt with American friends

Would Brits give up the pound for the EURO?
@julianneheindorf5757
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Just because the Brits may have changed their minds about the issue doesn’t mean that the EU wants them back. They were always a quarrelsome member who wanted exceptions to everything.
@John_Lyle
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
Britain can hold all the referenda it likes, even if the vote is 100% in favour of joining the EU it won't make any difference. Leaving the EU was a unilateral choice, joining would require the agreement of all 27 EU member states, and Britain has offended too many of them.
@multistanhuhue1601
December 22, 2023 at 3:28 am
It was sad seeing Britain leave because lots especially young Brits have never wanted to leave old people and politicians voted for Brexit leaving younger generation with the aftermath However i don't want them to rejoin at least untill 2030 or even longer they have to feel the consequences of their actions
