As a l8fe long fan of Doctor Who (since the mid-1980s) I approve of fish fingers and custard. Itis an odd pairing, but it does strangely work.

There is a savory Japanese custard called a Chawanmushi that might have gone well with the fish fingers. Not sure if there was anything in the cupboard though for making a dashi though, or if there was any sake available.

Fish finger and custard? The Doctor approves.

I know this video is 3 years old, but is there any chance we’ll be getting the podcasts back? Was really enjoying those, good fun!

the contents suggest full breakfast.why did he say sandwich? also wasn't the brief to use the entire box, or have I misunderstood something?

  9. @maryjoyspohrer256

I love how both James and Barry were 'nervous dancing'!

  10. @Lepong20

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

If the inspiration is fish fingers and custard you should have made sponge cake and cheese

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I think it's so interesting how normals see a bunch of ingredients and latch onto one or two that make sense in a familiar/recognisable dish then work out how to make that meal, whereas chefs look at the ingredients and think what function/component each one would be good for then build a dish from there. I phrased this so badly but yeah, I find it fascinating

Sometimes I’m these videos I think the Panne station should be renamed the “Panic Station”!?🤷‍♀️👍🏻🤣

  13. @deetanner7153

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I think Barry's sandwich would be more filling when eaten whereas James' tomato fish dish would need something afterwards to top you off….😊

  14. @johnhazlett3711

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I'm more of a sandwich guy.

  15. @amelieg314

Did anyone notice, James always plates on the same plate

James' looked good, but I would demolish that sandwich

  20. @onyxblack2409

Love the confidence stance James took for this thumbnail

  21. @socomfyhere

    Fish sandwich should've won

  23. @KrisAdamsTV

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

And yet, somehow, nobody made a joke about the fish finger sandwich and Barry's finger… 🧐😂

  24. @Random84530

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

"These are like size 10 feet"

Why is feet size used as a comparison here? And why is Mike so clear on feet sizes?

  25. @mamaharriett2

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

    Y’all should a a chopped Siri‘s

  26. @kylealexander7024

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

Can anyone explain wtf theyre cooking? Fish fingers but it takes vanilla? Im confused. Also milk poaching fish?! Please Help!

  27. @MarcusTheDorkus

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

Barry's sandwich was visually better. If both of those were put in front of me I'd go for Barry's right away.

  28. @gmax-go3pp

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

enjoy how these guys care for each other. Reminds me of when I first watched top gear. friends ribbing each other but with true affection.

  29. @tatergaming

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

heres a good challenge. have a normal and a chef try to beat eachother just like this challenge, but half way through, they have to switch and take credit for their new dish

  30. @kerielwatson3197

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I Imediately wanted to try putting the honey, coffee and parmesan together somehow… But I'm not chefy enough to know how

  31. @lindahogan6794

    That sandwich looks amazing

  32. @frilled2b

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I'm voting for Berry's fish sandwich.

  33. @RaymondArias

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

Now I know why Barry got that blue thingy on his finger. That's a bandage. I thought, that was something to do with his phone, like a finger condom for scrolling phone screens.

  34. @misssmarteepants3465

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

Minus the fish I would have made a fusion of a monte cristo and a Croque madame. Tomato jelly. I may have to try that because it sounds delish!

  35. @reigngreyson4046

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

Id say that I can tell what episode pieces are filmed on what day, but I also think that Jamie only wears like 5 shirts, so who knows…

  36. @youtubeme7195

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

The Chef on Chef is boring. Your great shows are all of the secondary things. Like this. But my favorite is the relay.

  37. @TracyCooksinAustin

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

OH the sandwich for the win for sure

  38. @secretforreddit

    December 22, 2023 at 4:31 am

I think I would have attempted to do some sort of savory French toast
