In the US we get things called mug warmers, which are like small hot plates, to set warm beverages on. They cost about $10 or so at the local discount store. $100 would buy a lot of them and they last several years. Or we also have insulated mugs which keep drinks fairly hot for quite a while. Do love the pasta machine, though.

I used to work as a receptionist at a doctor’s office and my coworker absolutely swears by her Ember mug! It was amazing to me how long her tea would stay warm!

I have an ember mug that's dumber than that one.. It just has an on/off button and 3 temperatures. No app (though no precision control like that one but it does the job). And it wasn't $100

If only nurses were paid enough to afford one of those mugs for at the station

$100 for a coffee mug that keeps your coffee hot? For less than $10 you can buy a really nice insulated mug that'll keep your coffee hot for hours. If you need it hot longer than that, well, tough. Drink your damn coffee!

I love the idea of that pasta machine, but it's certainly too rich for my blood. I agree it's more in the 50 to 75 quid range of a device.
I'll stick to hand rolling and cutting my noodles for now, even if I do so with envy of those macaronis

11:40 10 spring onions? That seems like a lot

You need to try Hunky Bills perogy maker from Canada

    That pasta machine is genius!!

If I had more space in my kitchen, and I got a good deal on that pasta maker, I'd love to get it!

£139.99 for a machine that only makes pasta!? I would rather buy a good extra virgin olive oil and a spaghettoni and i still would have money left over

The ember mug is amazing at making you hate yourself. It does an amazing job but it's rediculous and thus you hate yourself for liking it

  15. @scottishboy112

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

Honestly, saw the mug and thought that’d be a great present for my mum who always gets distracted and her coffee goes cold.
After checking the price now (£130)… I don’t know if I can justify it sadly.

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

What more can a coffee mug need, an app seems a bit much anyway but updating the mug is brilliantly OTT 😂😂 unless the mug can miraculously transform in front of my eyes it’s a definite no from me, especially at that price 😂😂

I have a timer on my stove and microwave. I follow the Canadian Egg website for cooking my eggs for soft and hard boiled. Never fails. Costs nothing.

Wasn’t expecting to hear a female voice on the app. I would be disappointed if it wasn’t one of the lads narrating

  19. @RoyAchiron

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

I had the exact same experience as him with finding an egg piercer on a timer. When it happened to me I felt like the worlds biggest idiot. Seeing the honorable Chef James falling victim to the same devious contraption restores my faith in myself.

  20. @katelights

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

you can use the mug with the default temp without using the app at all. you only need the app if you want to change the temp.

  21. @andy70d35

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

The iris tech is a waste of time if my beer ended up with that much head I would be going nuts, James first pour without the useless gadget would do me fine.

  22. @Mikyll1969

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

I want that pasta maker… especially if there are additional form attachments… #GimmeGimme

    Ben's studio looks refined.

  24. @diedampfbrasse98

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

140 bucks for the pasta machine and it doesnt even do the cutting, ffs. Adding a basic rotating blade was too much for those engineers … what garbage for that price.

  25. @SondreGrneng

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

    1. Pasta maker
    4. everything else.

egg timer is completely pointless, I have a timer on my phone. everyone has a phone.
the beer thing is just kind of, why would you? I'm perfectly capable of pouring a beer with some pretty decent head.
the mug has an app. I hate it.

  26. @isinox

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

that pasta machine is actually really cool, thanks guys!

  27. @evangelionmann

    December 22, 2023 at 7:54 pm

that first pun was so bad.. could have been so much better:

"does it make you feel bubbly, or does it fall flat"
