As a former Maccies manager, i can tell you the complete process, the meat comes in frozen, we called it 10:1 meat, we put the patties onto a a big flat grill that’s filled with the juices from the previous patties cooked, then use a little gun to spray the top of each patty with salt/ pepper mixture, then the top flat grill comes down and cooks the meat from the top at the same time, and the meat is then cooked in about 90 seconds, now the line, to make a big mac, you start off by separating the buns and putting them through the toaster, and the toaster has three sections, one for the top bun, one for the bottom and one for the middle bun where all the buns will slide through and come out the bottom toasted, you then put the top bun along with the middle on one side of the box and bottom bun on the other side of the box, you then shoot the big mac sauce out the gun on either side (big mac sauce being a mixture of ketchup, mustard, mayo and chopped up pickles), then you grab a pinch of rehydrated diced onion to put on either side, then the shredded lettuce, then two pickles onto the left side(the top/middle bun), then a slice of plastic cheese on top of said pickles, then finally, you grab two pieces of meat, put them on either side, move the middle bun/ meat ontop of the meat on the right/ bottom side, close the box and send down the chute, this should take you less than a minute to construct the burger. And about the buns, they are not enriched, they are completely dairy free and egg free, this is important due to allergies, some promotional buns or more specifically buns for the signature burgers can contain eggs/ milk but the big mac buns definitely do not

I’m 100% behind Ben not eating a Big Mac.

Ebbers refusing to taste it , is like a sikh chef cooking a beef steak and not tasting it.

Boy, 3 years go by fast. I miss the fridge cam intros. ❤
I miss those prices too, 😅

I agree with Ben though. I wouldn't have eaten one either. I haven't had fast food in most likely 10+ years and more than happy to not again. Most of their burgers just look wrong and give out the "feeling" that they will make you sick. That and they just like a sad microwaved pile of meat and processed everything else.

I like that you recreated one that was purchased and not the photograph, cause the photograph and what you get never match,

The McDonalds Hamburgers use 100% beef but also use quite a lot of filler, more than 50% of the burger is filler.
Some years ago they came out with a "diet" burger. The claimed it was 95% fat free. This was due to the fact that they used 95% filler in this case it was seaweed. It was a flop.
If you do not believe me, get a regular burger (its cheeper, but is the same meat in the burger. Order it without anything, take it out of the bun and just eat the burger plain. It has almost no taste, showing that the amount of filler is extreamly High,(over 70% All the taste/flavour is from the toppings

Would like to see what they would do to improve the Big Mac, improve it but it still has to be the Big Mac.

Shoutout to Ben for not having the Big Mac, i wouldn’t either

It's funny how Ebbers is the least healthy of the group yet "refrains" from eating a big mac.

Hubby worked in a factory where they made McDonald's buns, and he tells me the recipe was just flour water and ice, but the flour came in already mixed with all the dry ingredients, so not really much help.

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

Ebbers! I've NEVER had a Big Mac. And never will. I do enjoy two of the baby cheese burgers though.❤

Great vid. Personally I don't like too much stuff on a burger. My usual McDonald's order is 3 regular hamburgers with only onion, and a sachet of salt on each, because i love salt lol.

I know I'm a lil late with this comment BUT the Big Mac was a stolen idea from a big double stacked burger served at Bob's Big Boy in California 30 years before, one of the owners of a McDonald's franchise notice this "Big Boy Original" burger and how many people loved it, then much later on he invented the sauce that is really different from Bob's Big Boy burger.

  15. @FM_Flop290

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

Its old now but would guar gum help thicken the sauce.

Special sauce Is thousand island dressing with msg and water or vinegar

  17. @LordJupiter1

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

The "special sauce" is pretty close to what we call thousand island dressing in America.

  18. @soulcrusher807

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

The problems James had with the onions is because McDonalds gets dehydrated onions and rehydrate them. Longer shelf life keeps costs down.

  19. @silknfeathers

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

I am not a McDonalds fan, I don't understand why everything tastes like cardboard when they use real beef?

  20. @mushroomking311

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

This video has made me realize that the privilege of travel is literally entirely lost on those who get to do it. If my job brought me to… literally anywhere, I wouldn't eat a big mac. I already don't because I think McD's is the worst of the American fast-food lineup, but I would never aim for anything familiar anyways. Seriously depressing. Perhaps one day I can afford to eat something interesting out-of-context.

  21. @toerag572

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

Big Mac always looks "wilted" to me.

  22. @Rhianna74

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

Also the secret ingredient is Worcestershire sauce.

  23. @Rhianna74

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

I don’t know if this is considered Mandela effect, but I clearly remember big macs having two slices of cheese. 😅

  24. @Diabolus1978

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

Big mac sauce is just thousand island dressing

  25. @peterhealey1959

    December 22, 2023 at 5:50 pm

when I go abroad (if) I go to mcdonalds its for something you wouldn't normall get in the UK
