In 2023 final proposals to change Britain’s election map are set to be unveiled. These revamped constituencies will give more power to Britain’s more populated areas (especially the South of England). It’ll also give more power to the ruling Conservative party. So In this video, we’ll explain what’s happening and why the Tories picking up 10 new seats isn’t necessarily suspicious.

some of the new propsed constituency boundary changes for Cumbria are ridiculous.
putting Millom in the Barrow constituency is a good idea but dividing Workington into two constituencies and putting some of it under Penrith is crazy. also Seaton should remain in the Workington constituency because it is a lot closer to workington than it is to Penrith.

This is why MMP is so much better. You don't even have to worry about having constituencies be evenly sized.

That's outrageous. England is getting too much say over the rest of us! No wonder we don't want to be in the UK anymore.
At least in the USA each stay has the same amount of say as the other.

I say that how it's based on registered voters is right, because no part of UK has an equal number of people that can vote, if 2 constituencies has 50,000 people but one has 10,000 eligible (most likely registered) voters, while the other has 40,000, it contributes to BIG DIFFERENCES between the Popular Votes and the Election Results, even if the turn out rates in both constituencies are the same. And especially that if you're not a registered voter, then you can't vote

They are not based on '2000 census data', no such data exists and even if it did it would not have been used to draw seats. Seats are drawn based on electorate data, not total population. There are many other inaccuracies also pointed out in the comments here. Really really poorly researched video.

I’m not a Conservative voter but I believe boundaries should be as fair as possible. To me, the issue isn’t the boundaries however so much as the system of voting. First Past the Post is not democratic, personally.

They have my constituency Falkirk west on as to many people and also the constituency next to mine falkirk east where are we going to vote if they split they give a few parts of the town to north Lanarkshire completely different demographic or if it is to the opposite west Lothian that what it was like before and that caused trouble as well
