Russia has launched its biggest drone attack on Kyiv since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine began last year, the city’s mayor has said.

Residents were woken by explosions before dawn on Saturday as Russia bombarded the capital for more than six hours.

Looking further. Europe always needed foreign resources. But in the case with Russia they could not leave their colonialism and planned to overthrow the Russian government, and then plunder its natural resources. If Europe has problems now, I'm sorry it was the other way around.

A country that is fully supported by NATO cannot defeat a country that is subject to many sactions and embargoes, its really embarrasing.

Western media lies become more and more idiotic as the days pass. Does anyone believe a word the BBC says any more? Until a few weeks ago Ukraine was winning the war, their counteroffensive was a great success, the Russians were out of weapons (that story MANY times over the last 18+ months), the Russians are running away, the Russians are poorly trained conscripts, the Russians are using 'human waves', Russian weapons are inferior to Western "wonder weapons", etc. And yet somehow they are kicking Ukraine's ass! Over a million dead Ukrainians already, most of the weapons supplied by the West destroyed, and now Ukraine is planning to mobilize teenagers and women. It's time to stop this senseless slaughter.

    Russian State Terrorism continues

But we can always bank on the moral minnows living in the West to parrot Kremlin propaganda

Of course Ukraine cannot liberate itself overnight. Russia, despite it's seriously weakened economy and thousands of dead remains determined to destroy Ukraine

    WW2 took 6 years

This can't be right, according to Ukrainian sources, almost all drones were shot down, it follows therefore that those explosions were due to firecrackers fired off by somebody celebrating birthday.

Oh dear, guess they’ve run out of missiles. Must be about time the collective West imposed more sanctions on Russia! Must be about sanctions round 12 – according to the West their economy is in tatters!

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Sarah Smith in Washington.

Donald Trump scraps threat of 20% fee on Strait of Hormuz cargo | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has reversed his threat of a 20% fee on all Strait of Hormuz cargo shipping, as the US battles to break Iran’s hold on the waterway.

He said the toll would be replaced by trade and investment deals with Gulf states, just hours before the US resumes a blockade of Iranian ports.

It follows renewed strikes between the US and Iran, which triggered a sharp rise in oil prices as tanker traffic through the Strait has virtually stalled.
