To stay in power, Labour will get snp, on board, greens, and Muslim vote,, this would be a disaster in a very short time, by being over run with in, and over taken.

Labour has been out of power for more than 12 years. The New Labour years did not count as it was a different beast. I've been around a long time, and the sadist in me hopes Labour does gain power.

Lies and emotions are not oponions.
You want to change system which worked for many years, because you feel, its undemocratic. Trust me, I live in by your point of wiew in country with "democratic" system. Our Prime ministers since 1990s were true "people from the people" but they were also dump, vulgar and stupid. So please all students from Eton, which is by your point of wiew elitary and whatever send them to my country.
Do not worry radical left would not stay in power for much time in any democratic system.

The best, humane, response to far left and right is to acknowledge that they and the people who vote for them exist and to win them round with healthy open debate not closing it down. There must be consensus for democracy to work, and sullen extremists nursing their grievances and being swept under the carpet doesn't really help any of us in the long run. Those feelings just fester and build into something monstrous.

Eveni if labour don't win outright majority I still hope that the Tories are removed or severely weakened

  15. @Etheoma

    December 20, 2023 at 11:48 pm

Well one way would be to change the voting system from first by the post and Labour being willing to form coalitions with the Lib Dems, SNP and Greens and basically anyone who isn't far right.

Edit; Yeh wrote that before watching the video, but yeh. That is how you would do it and honestly even as a life long labour voter if it means keeping the right / far right governments out of power I would sign up for that, honestly I think labour members should be haranguing Labour whether they win a large majority or not to change the first by the post system, because even if the Lib dems were to get into power fuck they are at least not as bad as the Tories, and even if they were to win a the biggest share they would likely need a coalition partner which would probably be Labour.

We all know that as soon as Labour wins a majority they will abandon their commitments to electoral reform.
