What a bummer; I had a Nu-Wave halogen oven for years, and it worked FAR better than that thing.

No air fryer is really a fryer

The trick is to toast your breadcrumbs in a hot pan first. Let them cool then coat and cook them as normal.

One question if I can ask ? I had a Ninja 15 in 1 and two broke in the first year ! So I was told about this cheap one that’s got great reviews , I’ve not tried it yet I set it up today . Question : can you cook food in the glass bowl without the racks in ? We love spices wedges that we marinate so like them in a bit of oil and not too dry .. ahh sorry aldi a query ? I see you guys put foil in there , I’m my instruction booklet it says “ Do not use foil in this halogen fryer “ we always used foil in the Ninja ( agsin to marinate ) I know it’s Heathy but I like my fries a bit oily ha ha

My mum and Grams roasted chicken and even made cake in it too. Now I am going to see if we can do some these things in it over Christmas holidays

🤦‍♂️ cook a steak or potatoes without oil in a pan then criticise the device. People who buy this DONT OR CANT use oils due to nutritional requirements. 🤷‍♂️ I steam stuff because of that and because I don’t want my apartment to smell like fat

I'm now realising this upload was before electric price's sky rocketed and there's a major cost of living, which would now make this device very very useful.

I have been using a halogen oven for many years. I always cook from with the food located in the bottom of the bowl. These chefs do not know appear to know how to use it properly. Sorry guys, but you don't.

Love Ben's positivity .I actually used one of these in a caravan that was our temporary home whilst we finished our home in Portugal as the caravan had just a grill and a hob ,it cooked meat chicken fish etc plus stews casseroles spag bols and the rest ..
Of course I can't see it being in a chef's kitchen but it has a place elsewhere 😊

To be fair, air fryers aren't really meant to do a lot of those things. We use ours all the time, mostly to roast vegetables and cook chicken breasts. It's great for those things. I would never try to cook a steak in it because I have more respect for an expensive cut of meat than that. You could fry an egg on a car hood in the middle of the desert, but does that mean you should?

Got to say I found this patronizing and pointless. When ordinary people buy items like this it is because of the price and the way it cooks the foods they like to eat. It came across as if you'd made up your minds it wouldn't be any good but these have been around since before air fryers and with all things there are good and bad ones.

well….for baking a turkey, it works great…or Large volumes of veggies, a step up from a crock pot for other baking/cooking … It works great to prepare a large volume of fruit for canning…

When we were younger my dad would use this on chicken wings & slabs of pork with skin on. Both meats would crisp up well. We called them turbo broilers. My hubby found one at an auction & I've been debating on whether to try it out or not. I do have a beloved range.

The one thing I've found that my halogen pot does better than the oven is bacon – crispy, golden brown, perfectly rendered in 15 minutes. I just wish I had a rack to hold more than 4-5 slices at a time.

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I’ve had 3 now. Love them. I also microwave chips for 5 mins first then oil and season. They don’t claim to be faster, just more cost efficient.

Over the years these halogen oven have got better and better as have airfryers also the price of item can vary results

  24. @anavelaeshomestead

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Just came across your channel. I've been using halogen ovens for over 12years, I'm on my 3rd one now. Dropped the glass bowl and broke one.
It was an absolute life saver when our landlord took 12 months to replace the wall oven in the rental house. I cooked Xmas dinner for 8 people in that glass oven. They are great for smaller families cooking meals for 2 people. We use ours about 3x a week.
Biggest problem is that if you do have to wash the bowl, make sure that you have a large sink.!! Or big dishwasher. !!

  25. @scottyoung4226

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I'm pretty sure this is the same thing that's sold in the US under the name NuWave Oven. We were given one, and it's good if you go into it with appropriate expectations. It's not really something that is going to do anything better than other devices. It just does everything quickly and easily. It's really good for cooking things like frozen breaded chicken, or restaurant leftovers. It heats up quickly, and cleans up easily. The main problem with it is that it takes up a lot of space. So, it's not super convenient to just have it in your kitchen like a microwave, but having to pull it out of a closet and set it up kind of defeats the purpose of having it for convenience. My understanding is that it's very popular with people who have recreational vehicles, because it can replace pretty much all of your cooking devices, if you're fine with your food being just OK.

You are talking nonsense I have been using Halogen ovens for 6 years and currently have 2 of them not only do they cook quicker they save about 75% on my electric bill……and have not found anything that they do not cook well.

  27. @JacobJonesy

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I had one of these when I was a little kid. They were called Easy Bake Oven

James needs to attend a course. Not on cooking, on how to present. He constantly knocks down everything before he even tries the appliance. Get to know how to use the machine first before embarrassing yourself James.

And now even that we know hallogen cookers are poop. I use one because I can't afford to use my oven

You lads are rushing everything. Not everyone has the same taste. Now I got the time right not on the Box. Done all sorts in mine.

  33. @tom_something

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I'm not really getting the point of the halogen here. Yes, halogen light sources get hotter than incandescent lights, but that's primarily good for visible light, because the hotter something is, the more visible light it's putting out as a proportion of the total power consumed. Wouldn't this be extremely inefficient? Much like an inefficient incandescent light "loses" too much energy to heat, this incandescent cooking device "loses" a lot of energy to light.

This Airfryer is updated 15 years ago not even digital buttons why you guys made this video with this one ????

  35. @theboywithathorninhisside.4179

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Just recently purchased one. Via the DAEWOO Brand. Would l recommend it.. Yes overall. Obviously far cheaper than a regular Oven and quicker in cooking time due to the Heat up and over all size. I must point out, it's more of an HALOGEN Cooker rather than a typical Tower enclosure Air Fryer as l found the end results were quite noticeable different. But like everything, its personal taste & choice preference.

  36. @richard99970

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Very first item they didn't follow the instructions they coated the chips etc in oil instead of sprayed in the oven.

  37. @ayu6737

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I use to have one of the earliest models of this before air fryers and microwave ovens. The glass dome cracked within a year but not from us dropping it rather from light monthly use.

  38. @JoannaHammond

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

This is a waste of energy, if you create that much light your are not using all the energy for cooking.

  39. @ace19919

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

looking back at this video two years later, and with circumstances somewhat different, i'd wonder if that Halogen Air Fryer is at all more energy efficient compared to a standard oven/grill, considering Halogen bulbs are so notoriously inefficient? 🤔

  40. @capatainnemo

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

even a ninja top of the range air fryer is just a fan assisted convection oven
with an element rather than a halogen bulb

  41. @whatworkedforme

    December 20, 2023 at 1:39 pm

I can hear a bias with one chef from the off (is this like I cook in my chef's kitchen? – No – so end of discussion and reluctant agreement of taste).. I hear reasonableness with the other chef (sorted on shirt) If you can't see something for what it is then you don't get a fair review. It is a desktop oven for goodness sake!
