2018 and 2010 Ebbers are two completely different people 😂 older Ebbers is more confident and dominant than 2010 Ben who was meek and timid 😂 the biggest indication of how much he’s grown up is his maturity and growth into his body, now looking like he fits in his body rather than existing in his body like a hermit in a shell 😂😂

I just realized… chicken ‘n dumplings don’t have the traditional “dumpling” either. It’s just biscuit or yeast roll dough pulled apart and cooked in the chicken broth. Never realized that ‘till now lol.

Both stews look to taste delicious. The dumplings both look a bit heavy and stodgy, although I think the potato dumplings look more appealing. I prefer baking powder dumplings with stews. They puff up to deliver a lighter, slightly drier interior more akin to tasty white bread, yet the exterior is moist, silky, and has taken up the flavours of the stew. This gives the dumplings a bit of chewiness that subsequently rather melts in the mouth.

A recipe that I've experienced since I was a child is my mother's tortilla cassarole. Basically, brown of a pound of beef mince, add a tin of cream of mushroom soup, a small tin of diced green chilies, and shredded cheese. Layer up as tortillas (flour)- mixture – tortillas mixture – etc. On top of the last tortillas, add more cheese, bake until the cheese goes bubbly.
Recently, I did it but added diced onion and green bell pepper, and it was MASSIVELY different. I'm also planning to do one with street corn (Elotes) added, which should just blow it up!

Please do more of these- I just ‘sorted’ a beef stew… I had it cooking in the Dutch oven , but I had extra more veggies then pot space. I cooked the remaining veggies in a wine/ beef broth and once cooked , I took the immersion blender to the veggie / broth and added it to the stew in the Dutch oven as it cooked down. I got ‘lazy’ and made cheese tea biscuits instead of dumplings ( the lid on those cast iron pots get heavy )

Parsley doesn't make everything looks better. In fact, most of the time, it just looks like you've bumped into the parsley and it fell on the plate.
