I thought the UK had a more proportional voting system not a strict first past the post like the US.

If they can offer anything different to Starmers 'at least we dont call ourselves Tory' Tory party, of coures they do. The sociopathic political elite seem to think they can get by on the bare minimum without actually offering anything other than the continued rot and decay for the benefit of the 0.1%.

Voting against things rather than for something is wasting the right to vote entirely which seems to be the sewer of thought most dullard brits find themselves in. If we get more status quo decline im leaving the country for good… the dullards here can screw themselves over as much as they want then, electing nepotistic inheritance kiddies and nihilists to rule over them with incompetence and corruption.

Its crazy people can even vote for brexit and think they should still have a voice when it comes to such matters, theyd do us all a great service never to show up to the booth again. Such people are incapable of independant thought or learning, theyll just do what Murdoch wants them to again.

The LibDems need to become much more pro-rejoin than at present, and must identify themselves as the party of Europe. They must also continue to campaign for reforming the constitution and the electoral system, and commit to a more equal society instead of woke virtue signalling as Labour is doing.

It seems to me that the LibDems have similiar problems as the German liberal Free Democrats have. They seem likeable in opposition with fresh ideas, but in government they fail to get their policies passed. The FDP was blamed for all the bad things during their government with the CDU/CUS under Merkel just like the LibDems under Cameron and collapsed entirely the following election, and now in the centre-left coalition with Social Democrats (German labor) and Greens they get attacked by both the right for being a stirrup holder for the progressives as well as the left for being the blockade force in government. Will be interesting to see whether the same thing happens with the LibDems.

  14. @Bobbybulsara179

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

The Lib Dem’s have had their chance. They offer nothing Labour or the Tories offer so are irrelevant.

  20. @jammiedodger7040

They won’t be important at all because the conservatives will be replaced by Reform UK.

Lib dems comeback 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ??? What comeback They haven't been been the governing party for nearly 100 years

  23. @MagicMiro

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

The Tories made a big gift to the Reform Party with the recent immigration, and Reform will skyrocket. LibDems will go up as well endorsed by the Remain people. The Tories will lose a lot of voters.

Didn't mention the local election results, out performing Labour. Also didn't mention that the maths didn't work out for a coalition with Labour

  26. @Mr.DalekLK

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

The elections in the UK are so… Not very exciting compared to what happened in Poland. Nationalists versus Christian Democrats, Liberals, Social Democracy, Socialists and Agarists, and the only real opposition now is the Confederation (monarchists, nationalists and liberaltians)

  27. @RobinSteiner

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

I would hope that if they did manage to get elected that they somehow torpedo First Past the Post in Britain. That would ensure they would get re-elected or if not maintain higher numbers of seats in the next election. I don't know how many pitfalls they have artificially created to prevent reforming the system, though. I am sure it's a byzantine bureaucratic mess.

  28. @coldflu

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

Politics will become less and less

and the mighty will meet on equal terms. Cyberspace is the ultimate offshore jurisdiction. An economy with no taxes. Bermuda in the sky with diamonds.
When this greatest tax haven of them all is fully
    open for business, all
funds will essentially be offshore funds at the discretion of their owner. This
will have cascading consequences. The state has grown used to treating its taxpayers as a farmer treats his cows, keeping them in a field to be milked.
Soon, the cows will have wings.

  30. @hairyhaggis7431

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

If Labour and the Liberals went into an election pact, the Tories would be annihilated at the next election

Liberals would have a solid chance of being the official opposition

However, they won’t as Labour would not be interested as PR would be the first thing the Liberals ask for

  32. @TheMagicLemur

They never were relevant. Even when they had 60+ seats, Tony Blair said: "Never overestimate the Lib Dems". 😏

  34. @jamesvbconnolly

    December 18, 2023 at 6:13 am

god i hope not. i was such a libdem fan. until they betrayed everyone and everything they stood for, just a sniff of power. I just can't bring myself to ever support them again. 😢

    No way

  36. @verzeda

No small group of people should have ultimate say over the fates of tens of millions of people. Its monstrous. Stop this f**king facade of democracy immediately and introduce party moderated direct democracy.
